700r shift problem

83 k10 with a 700r, has reverse and feels like 3rd gear in drive. Never shifts out though. I can put it into manual 1 and still feels like 3rd gear or so... Fluid level is ok, changed filter and fluid. Fluid was bright pink like it had water in it previously. Still does the same thing. TV cable adjustments dont help either... cant find a wiring diagram for it, checked for power and dont have any coming to it. Need help. Do i have to have power for it to shift or does it sound like internal problems?

83 700r4's do not have "power" going to it. It is fully mechanical. It only has a wire going to it for converter lockup from the vacuum switch located on the firewall at 10 oclock from the brake booster. It only gives power when it has high vacuum in 3rd or 4th gear.

Sounds like it is internal.
