@TravisB

That cleaned up really well! Does it have the Dana or Corporate rear axle? If it has the Dana, when you get pics of the under carriage, get a pic of the axle and panhard bar frame bracket.

Finally had it on the rack and totally forgot to take pics of anything. My buddy did take this one of me looking for the trans leak though. I will have to go look this evening if I can remember.

Crawled under and took a few pics of things. Nothing in particular but did try to get the axle link pictured.

Thank you very much!

That's what I need right there. If anyone in the GMSquarebody forum knows of an old frame from that era laying around, and is willing to part with the panhard bar frame mount, hit me up. Thanks

I can take some measurements of it if you want to try and make one or give up on finding an original. Also found this on ebay which may be simpler than building one.

That 63-72 frame mount is for the corporate rear axle. The Dana like you have, the panhard bar is at an angle away from the axle, whereas the corporate, it's parallel. Measurements would be good. Another option I just thought of, would be to alter the panhard bar to line up with the parallel frame mount. I want to swap in my 3.54 geared D60 but this bar mount issue is what's stopping me at the moment. Well that and honeydo projects...lol...

Wish my 71 GMC had that suspension, mine came with leafs instead of coils, very hard to come find a decent 4/6" drop with leafs other than spring over and C notch it.

And I wish my '65 had leaf springs...lol...

Hey @TravisB what rpms are you running down the road? You might have the 3.54 geared dana in your truck. From what I've heard the 3.54 dana is a rare breed. A guy in the Barstow area sold one to a guy in Florida for $1,200. The guy flew out to buy it, and rented a truck to haul it back to Florida. In '68 definitely the C20 Suburbans got them with a TH400 and a 396 power plant. When I talked to the guy from Barstow about the frame mount, he said his suburban got 20+mpg's. He has the frame mount, but wants me to buy the frame, not just the mount.

My truck didn't come with a tach so I can't say what RPM it runs down the road at. I will see if I can find a gear ratio in what paperwork I have.
