Ok so right now I have an 85 k10 with 4 inches of lift on stock 15x8 rims with 35x12.50 15. I am fixing to swap in axles from a V(K)20 from 87 with 4.11 gears. I am looking at some black rock rims on summit racing and I am going to get the 16 inch equivalent of a 35x12.50 but will they still fit with the tires moved out about 1 3/4 inches?

The rims are 16x10 with -34mm offset. The stock 15x8 have -12mm offset.

It kinda depends on the springs, but it's doubtful they clear without rubbing. Some trimming will most likely be needed, or stick with an 8 inch wide wheel.

I know mine are like this but I didn't do it. Is it safe to do an 8 inch wheel with a 12.5 inch wide tire? Is there a write up on trimming on this site?

A 12.5 tire on an 8 inch rim is perfectly fine, it's actually an ideal size. A stock 16 inch rim is only 6.5 or 6.75 inches wide, and you can squeeze a 12.5 tire on those too. Backspacing is probably around 3.5 inches.

There's not much to trimming, you just cut off what the tire tries to hit.

Are the k10 and k20 tracks the same? I'm looking to have my wheels stick out a little bit farther but the only rims that are reasonably priced have a backspace of 4.25 and 4.5 inches.
