3” header back exhaust pipe kit for 2wd?

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to get a 3” header back exhaust pipe kit for my c20 but everything I’m finding (reasonably priced) is for the k series. Does anyone know where I can get one for a 2wd? Or even a 2 1/2”?

I always just take my trucks to the exhaust shop and let them fab up a system. Much easier that way

The crossmember is your biggest obstacle if yours is like mine. Putting headers on was easy, piping them out is another story. A lot depends on the make of the headers. My driver side emptied out facing the crossmember, so I had to use like 4 angled adapters to get over the driver side of the crossmember to continue the install of the pipes. And when clamps are $4.99 each at the Autoparts stores, things start adding up. Passenger side is almost straight out. Problem is with some shops is that these are Catalytic converter equipped originally, that makes things more complicated cuz some shops won't touch an altered exhaust system if not stock, i.e. headers and or a converter deletion.

Exhaust shop is going to be your best bet if you're going to run 3" all the way back. Not going to be cheap either. It's a fairly similar run to that pipe kit shown. I have that exact same kit that I used on my 77 2wd C10. Pulled it off before I sold the truck to somebody for less than I was asking.

Are you going to run full dual 3”? That is serious overkill for a 350. Spend money on things that will get you more bang for your buck.

I just ordered tail pipes from Walker, sales were very helpful after I sent an information request. You might try them, couldn’t hurt. This is what they sent me, I was having trouble finding the double tailpipes out the side that came with the truck.

Okay you realize that dual 3 inch exhaust would be good on a 600 hp engine,but isn't going to be good on yours, you are going to lose exhaust velocity and hurt hp and torque. Rough numbers 1 inch of diameter per 100 hp . 300 hp engine. Single 3 inch exhaust or dual 1.5 inch. There are formulas to get more accurate than that,probably even an online calculator. But I know you are serious overkill with dual 3 inch on what I am assuming is s fairly stock 305 or 350.

You might be good at 400HP using 2-1/2" with X-Pipe system.

Summit sells a great looking Y-Style merge pipe that is much better than a factory Y- (which is almost a T-style pipe with so many 45 degree bends from the passenger side).

I never liked that chart. I prefer this one.Look and see what size exhaust Lingenfelter was using on high horsepower Corvettes if there was more power to be made going bigger he would have done it.

Run 3 inch.
It will be fine.
You won't loose enough to care about.
You are not designing it to pull the n-th amount of power.

If you can, buy a universal dual exhaust kit from Ebay.
You can do it yourself and have the satisfaction afterwards of knowing you did it.
We do it to all the cars in the driveway.
If not having a welder is the issue, you will save that much by doing it yourself.
So buy one.
We did and have built several exhausts and other things with it.

This is the front half of the 3 inch my son put on his 1949 truck with its little 307.
It has plenty of power for what it is.
He will soon be putting a mildly built 350 roller cam engine in the truck.

For my brothers 1972 truck we did the same DNA exhaust kit from Amazon and assembled it in the driveway on a late Sunday night.

We also did a 3 inch single under my daughters 1992 Camaro as well as a tailpipe and muffler on a 1976 Nova.
My 1979 Silverado will also be getting a 3 inch exhaust to go behind the 454 that is in the engine bay.
The mandrel bend kits are done quite well and should last for many years.
You can get them in mild steel or stainless.

Yup, I like the look and sound of a 3” exhaust system on a small block best.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a welder as of right now, hopefully going to get one soon, but want an exhaust on my truck as soon as possible because it’s going to be my daily driver. If I had a welder I would get one of the universal kits, and I hate spending money on someone else’s work on my truck, so that’s why I’m looking for a kit ready to bolt on.
