3” exhaust kit

Has anyone had any luck with an aluminiumized or stainless dual exhaust kit online? I currently have the stock manifolds with the 2,25”dual steel pipe out the back just behind the rear wheels on my 1978 GMC k15. Time to replace it.

Please don't take offense to this, but are you sure you need a 3" exhaust? The reason I ask is most folks that run a 3' exhaust(duals) do not really need it. In fact, it can hurt your performance in most cases and cause a hell of a drone that gets old quick. A well-tuned, properly bent 2.25-2.5" with free-flowing manifolds or headers will keep your engine sounding nice and working as it should. That being said, I've had good luck with the DYNOMAX DIY kits from Summit Racing for several different vehicles and they work well. When you start talking stainless kits, is when you need to break out your wallet, especially when in the 2.5" and larger diameter kits. $$$

A single 3" exhaust would be good to about 400hp,Duals 3"would be good to 600hp. Just like too much cam,too much carb,too much compression. More isn't always better.

Im at the same place in my build, Ive got a 383 vortec that I need to decide, a 3in single or 2.5in duals with an H pipe. I do know that I want those headman elite headers. they are pricy but they do the hob well.

I have a custom 3" true dual setup but I'm making in the 550+ HP range. A stock or slightly warmed over 350 really only needs a 2.25"-2.5" setup especially if your still running cast manifolds. Can probably find a dual 2.25-2.5" kit from summit for stock manifolds and a set of mufflers for around $300 or so.

Yes. Kind of a PITA if you dont have a lift but worth it over the crush bent hackjobs that most shops put on. Probably take a full day unless your just gonna run straight exhaust down each side. Mine is the Pypes kit and their mufflers with a few extra bends. Dumps at the bumper
