Exhaust tip location question

Hello all, this is my first post, excited to be a member! I have a 73’ C10, short fleet side bed and I want to do a new exhaust system. I currently have a 350 with long tube headers, so from the headers back, I want to do an x pipe, dual mufflers and then run dual Speedy’s boom tubes, exiting in front of my rear wheels. My question is, if I leave the stock fuel tank, is the proximity of the boom tubes to the bottom of the fuel tank going to pose an issue because of heat? The tips aren’t cheap, so I don’t want to buy 2 if they aren’t going to work without relocation the fuel tank. I’m gather info before I pull the trigger on this project. I would be leery of doing that. Even if it's nothing dramatic like melting the tank and catching fire, it's going to heat up the fuel enough to probably cause issues. Overflowing of the tank, overflowing out the vent, fuel hot enough it's starts to boil by the time it's in the carb/vapor lock issues. If you're hellbent on running that setup, put a rear tank in it

I don't know what a boom tube is but I ran dual 2.5" exhaust and exited where you are talking about and haven't had any issues. You can put your hand on the gas tank and it's not uncomfortable.

We have ours exiting between the fuel tanks and rear tires. I did long tube headers and built my own dual exhaust with Cherry Bombs, a H-pipe and turn-down tips. No issues yet with the tanks or the tires. Rear rims might get a bit dirty from the exhaust but this isn't a show truck. The rumble still makes this 50-year-old giggle like a highschooler...

X pipes make very little HP but will help for a drone situation. Unneeded IMHO.

Welcome from Austria. Run the exhaust pipes between the frame rails to get some distance to the tanks. The driveshaft doesn't care about some heat. Wrapping the exhaust also helps to keep the temperatures down.

They make embossed aluminum heat shields that have fiberglass sandwiched in the middle if you're worried about heat. We put one directly on the tractor muffler and you can put your hand on it with it running.

Otherwise you can run it out the back and still have the x sound. Not everybody's cup of tea but I like the higher pitch in the upper RPMS while still being quiet down low. Mine are dumped at the bumper

Mine dump out the side but they sit were the tanks used to be as I have a fuel cell in the bed.

They are 3" ultra flows off of a set of fender well headers.
