265/75/15???

So i have a factory set of steel rims for the winter, my truck has 31x10.50 on it now but the steels had 235/15's. I been looking for a bigger set of 15" tires to put on them, someone told me 265 would be about the same height as 31's if thats so does anyone know where i could get that size? Ive been googling and come up empty. Im looking for an aggressive mud or snow type tire. i dont put passenger types on my truck as it does go off road also. Thanks for any help.

265/75r15 would be 30.6” in theory. You can play with the equation to see what you can find in a 31” OD.

You may already be aware, but...

The first number ‘265’ is the width given in mm. The second number ‘75’ is the aspect ratio. One sidewall is equal to 75% of the width.

So if you plug in 265/75r15 in (remember that 25.4mm is equal to one inch):

265(.75+.75)/25.4 + 15= 30.65” OD

These are 31” super swampers at 10.5” wide. 10.5 is around a 265.

I think someone will jump in on your statement about looking for a mud or snow type tire. They aren’t necessarily interchangeable.

No but to me i dont buy "winter" tires... a good tread mud ill run all year. Plus my steels are a 6" wide, would a 31x10.5 be too wide and look stupid?

265's are pretty common. Before I put the lift on my truck I went out and bought some Goodyear Duratrac tires. I needed something that would do well offroad and also something good for winter. These were great tires for this. Sidewall is a bit weaker than some other tires they say... but didn't have any issues.

16s or 15s? I have a general dislike for any goodyear... all that ive had were trash and wore or blew out way too fast. Ive had great luck with dunlop mud rovers and my federal couragias, granted the motor **** before they were a year old so. Best tireive seen BY FAR was the bfg mud terrain ta, the original pattern. The ones i had went anywhere!!!!

In a 15" tire that size most are P series, not LT. They do make 32x11.50x15's if you want something bigger. It's probably too wide for a stock wheel though.

They were 265/75 R16s (31.7" tall)

I'm not a Goodyear fan either- but liked the reviews on them. Then checking them out in person at the tire store sold me on them.

My brother in law then ran him on his GMC Sierra and like them also.


EDIT: I didn't see you were running 15" wheels. Maybe it is worth it to size up to a 16" wheel?

A 10.5 is essentially a 265. My steels are 6.5 and 285s look fine on them.

The factory ralleys i wanted to go to a 32x11.5 but bein 2wd and probly factory coils its too low in the friont im betting. Its really low in front btw. If i can stick 31x10.5 on a 6" wide steel i would...

Also, I used to have a '79 2wd Blazer with 32's on it. They fit fine on some aftermarket white steel wheels. 7 or 8 inch wide, I don't remember for sure.

I ran these on my C20's. I fit 33x12.50's on a 10" wide wheel with only minor trimming. I had a 2" block in back.

If any one is interested I have a complete new set of these for half price plus the ride.

I can tell you mine are factory steels because theyre stamped gm 15x6. Maybe ill throw a 31 on and see how they look. I just dont want them to look bulbous and over inflated because the rim isnt wide enough.

When I used to run my C10 in the winter, I had 255/70/16 all terrains on a set of factory 16x5 steelies. They were squeezed on there, but didn't look goofy. I think there's pics in my thread.
