1999 vortec 454.. Same starter as SB chevy??

Will any SB chevy starter work with this motor, or is a a specific starter for this block??

It works on any Chevy small block or big block that has a staggered bolt pattern (168 tooth flywheel). It is a better starter than what was original on our trucks, but does require the use of shorter mounting bolts. It also fits 4.3 V6 motors.

Ok cool. Im going to pull the one off my SB 350 in my K20 and put it on the 454. Going to do a test run..
