1986 k20

Anyone know if 16" stock rims from a 2004 chevy will fit on my 86 k20? I know they are the right bolt pattern, just wondering about clearence for the brakes and stuff. The truck currently has 16.5"x12.5" rims on ( I know this isn't the factory size) and i'm wanting to switch to a more common rim size so I'm not limited to Military surplus tires lol. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Howdy from another Andy! My old boss actually used to call me Handy Andy, then he later just shortened it to "Handy".

The newer rims will work, they just have a little more backspacing. Where have you been sourcing the surplus tires out of curiosity?

thanks for the reply bucket, I actually just bought this truck a couple weeks ago and it had the 36x12.5x16.5" tires on it. they are in great shape and will work great in mud and sand I imagine. But they aren't worth a darn on snow and ice covered prairie trails. I bought the truck to fix up and use as a hunting truck and eventually hand down to my son in 10 years when he can drive lol. I found a guy that has a set of rims from a 2004 2500 and he wants $175 for the set of 4 with no rubber. I'm thinking i might just pick them up and roll with them.

If the off set is a little too far in you can throw a set of these on before the wheels. .25" spacers. http://www.autozone.com/tire-repair...-6-lug-wheel-spacer/343706_0_0/?checkfit=true
