I'm wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to figure out which parking brake cable lengths work for my C30 with 158.5" wheelbase. The cables aren't on the truck so I can't measure them. I've searched the forum but couldn't find any information.

Searching RockAuto gives me a variety of lengths, but I am unsure of which ones are correct.

Thanks!

The front cable or the rear cables?

Are there different length options for front and rear? I'm only asking because I'm curious. I was thinking there might be two lengths for the front (single or crew cab) and then multiple lengths for the rear, based on the cab to axle lengths. If that were the case, you would need to shorter front cable and the longest rear cables... but that's purely a guess.

I always thought the rear were pretty close to the same and the intermediate cable made up the difference????

I've only checked Rock Auto, but they list the following:

Front: 89 1/8".. 93".. 117".. 122"

Left: 51 1/8".. 55 1/2"

Right: 72 3/4".. 73 1/2".. 75 3/4".. 78 1/4"

For the left and right cables I can probably figure something out because they're based on single or dual rear wheel,
and axle - GM 14 Bolt or Dana 70. The descriptions in the Rock Auto listings aren't explicit but give enough info where I could likely figure it out.

For the front I could probably look at the list of wheel base options for the C30 and choose a cable based on that.

I've found these to be the available wheel bases for C30 chassis':

Reg Cab 131.5"
Crew Cab 164.5"
Motorhome 127"
Motorhome 158.5" - my wheel base
Motorhome 178"

Look up the Chevy P30 chassis as an option too. You should have JB8 brakes on your truck. Also you need to know if you have a 14 bolt or a Dana70. The Dana should have the inside rear dually tire line up with your front tire. I would guess your truck was a chassis cab due to the wheel base and will have the 14 bolt. The inner dual will be very close to the spring.

Maybe post a picture of where your rear cable mount is, like my photos. Maybe we can figure what should be in your truck.

Here's the Rockauto link to that P30 page.

I never thought to look at the P30, that's a great idea. And yes it is the 14 bolt.

I did happen to check with a few local suppliers this weekend and turns out it was easy enough/inexpensive to order through them and they had listings for the right wheel base and axle. I guess I assumed it would be more difficult to find them locally, should have checked first haha.

Thanks for the help!
