1976 K10 rear shocks

my 17 year grandson has a 1976 k10 short bed 99% rust free and and original motor ,trans, and stock wheels and suspenion. i'm trying to get some of the bounce out of the back end without adding weight, has anyone tried a double adjustable shock to get rid of the bounce with stock suspension, and if so what brand of shock shock ??

I used those rancho 9000 adjustable shocks and they were ok.

I really like the bilstiens 5100s but are pricey.
