Ultra-low voltage at power window breaker?

Reading the two points and completing the circuit will only give you the difference between the two points. Read the feed to a chassis ground. You should have source(battery) voltage there. If not, trace back to the fuse. You can also use a power probe and apply battery votage then check...

    New to site.

That looks like it will be a labor of love. Being a grandpa myself, I'll bet he will cherish the time you spend on with him. Added bonus, we normally have more money than you do! LMC Truck is a good source for restoration parts, but be carefull with wiring harness replacements. The brand...

    Harmonic Balancer Question

They may not, as you suspect. I just replaced mine on my 77 350. I think it was like $45.00

FNG Old fart really needs help with 77 C30 350

So.....The saga continues. I got a carb kit, pulled off the carb and went to it. The carb had some white deposits and really needed a good cleaning. After a very meticulous process, put the carb back on and it started right up. Then the carb started spewing gas from every place it could...

FNG Old fart really needs help with 77 C30 350

Have to laugh Rich. But yes, advance is disconnected, at 14 to 16 B T D C base timing its a lazy old dog and about 15 to 17" of vacuum. Then I reconnect the advance vacuum and start advancing it and the quick 1" flutter continues as it climbs to 19" then the flutter fades as I reach 20"...

FNG Old fart really needs help with 77 C30 350

Maybe I left a few details out..... The vac advance is on non - ported and I'm pulling 20 " on that port. The air injection is on ported vacuum and i believe I need to have it on ported. Paying much more attention to what it's doing under load today, it will pull good in granny, 1st, and 2nd...

FNG Old fart really needs help with 77 C30 350

I ordered the carb kit this morning, might as well run through it just to be sure. A good friend can do those things in his sleep. I will keep you all posted.

FNG Old fart really needs help with 77 C30 350

Marty, Thanks for the reply. The radiator is clean, with at least a 35 to 40 degree drop top to bottom. I had the intake cleaned when it was off, then block sanded the faces with 120 grit. Had a can of copper coat spray, but didn't use it on the intake. I guess my real concern here is am...

FNG Old fart really needs help with 77 C30 350

The timing doesn't start to achieve a decent performance at idle until it gets to at least 14 B T D C and i had to advance it further to get to the vacuum I have now. My light doesn't have a delay / advance function. Base timing has to to be running close to 22 - 25. I replaced the fuel line...

FNG Old fart really needs help with 77 C30 350

It's a Saginaw 465 (3 over a granny) and it is engine temp. I've tightened down the intake as far as I dare and the exhaust manifold temps aren't excessive. I'm thinking it may be the carb, but the popping has me concerned. The vac guage needle vibrates a bit at less than max vacuum , like it...

FNG Old fart really needs help with 77 C30 350

So I've posted twice before with no response, and I have just about had it with this 77. Long story short..... 350, blew the headgasket. Reworked 822 heads, reman distributor, new fuel pump, and it falls on it's face under load. Have the distributor, I believe, 1 tooth retarded but used...

    77 C30 5.7 Falling on it's face

Ok, I should be able to figure this out, but after two weeks of screwing around with this, and re-learning evrything I forgot, I'm going to drop ten and punt this to you all. 77 C30 with a 350. It was rebuilt some 60k + miles ago and I'm finding out that it was a half ass job to start with...

sm465 just a little too short

I see the spline pictured is a 10 spline. That would mean that it is a 4WD Trans. I believe the 35 and 10 splines were 4WD and the 32 was the 4X2. Im really looking for something thats plug and play. I know, nothing is that easy. Someone has had to have run through this before. My 77 is...

sm465 just a little too short

I understand that they are the same, but my concerns are with the spline count on the input and output shafts. I have heard that there are three different splines used. The MM7 I believe was used in the P series units. I'm looking to forego the granny gear and gain the .73 fourth gear. That...

sm465 just a little too short

Hello, just purchased a 77 C30 with a 350 and the saginaw 3 speed with the granny. So I figured out it's a ch465 and I need something a little taller, but need to tow trailers for work. I would like to know if a sm465 rpo mm7 replacement will require a different drive shaft? The clutch...
