    Optima Batteries worth the cost?

If I wanted the best AGM, I'd get an Odyssey; Enersys is a serious battery manufacturer of all types (I used to work for a competitor of theirs). That said, I don't see the point of anything more than a Duralast Gold in any of my cars.

I feel sorry for that 10 bolt.

Usually my '08 4Runner, but the burb gets a couple days a week. The 4Runner has the 4.7L V8, Fox coilovers with remote resi in the front with Fox shocks and some lift coils in the rear.

What lift and tires are best for my 1990 Suburban?

I got my 33's before the lift, and I didn't notice any rub in that couple of weeks before the lift went on. However, I didn't really have it offroad or flexed out in that couple of weeks, either.

What lift and tires are best for my 1990 Suburban?

Here's my '90. 4" BDS all spring lift, drop pitman arm, and 35" tires. She ran great with the stock 3.42 rear on the highway (in 3rd gear, never overdrive) when I had 33" tires, but went to 4.56 gears when I went up to 35" tires. Now runs great in overdrive when i get above 45 mph, and hums...

    Fox shocks

I think you'll want 985-24-052 for the front and 985-24-054 for the rear. The front has a 10" travel and rear is a 12" travel. Both of these part numbers are with remote reservoir and eyelet / eyelet design. The travel, compressed, and extended dimensions match up with Bilsteins I can find on...

Best all terrain tire for your square

Yeah, they're a "tweener" tire that tries to be AT & MT, but not as aggressive as maybe a Duratrac. I'm really liking the road manners on them so far. The guys at the tire shop gave me the business about not putting the letters out. I had them out on my 4Runner once, and just didn't like it...

Best all terrain tire for your square

I have Dick Cepek Trail Country EXPs and like them a lot so far. Haven't put them through much of anything off the pavement (and no snow yet), but they ride nicely on the highway. I looked really hard at the Falkens, but got these around $164 each (35x12.50R15).

Pick the fav car you owned but follow instructions:

In order of purchase: '90 Pontiac Grand Prix SE coupe - first car '01 S-10 LS, extended cab, ZQ8, 4.3L '08 4Runner Sport, 4.7L V8, Fox suspension (my first real offroader) '90 Suburban, 350, 4" BDS lift I'm torn between all of these. I still have the 4Runner and the Suburban and can't bear...

What have you done to your square lately??

Got new tires today - 35" Cepek Trail Country EXP. Haven't had them off pavement yet, but they ride very nice and are much quieter than the feathered Kumho's they replaced.

    LED Head Lights

I have these, and like them as well. Don't run an LED bulb in them since they're reflectors, but a nice H4 bulb is good.

    Repair Melted Connector

Ran to AutoZone to get some wire loom, and found a two-wire pigtail. Cut the old one out, got the new one in, loomed, secured, and she fired right up. Thank you all for your help - it's greatly appreciated!!

    Repair Melted Connector

It's a two wire on either side - I didn't think about being able to snag one off a GMT400 - I'll check that out. Thank you all for your help!!

    Repair Melted Connector

Hi all - had a little fun a couple days ago when the wiring that powers the fuel pump ended up laying on my exhaust during a 60 mile drive. The plastic on the connector melted through, and then the metal in the connector shorted to the exhaust pipe and blew the ECM-B fuse. I got it rigged up...

Whats you gas mileage on your squarebody truck?

I get 10 - 10.5 pretty reliably. 1900 V1500, lifted 4", 33" tires, 3.42 rear, stock 350 TBI and 700R4. With the larger tires I only let run in 3rd gear, and still get (what I feel is) good MPG.

    87 K5 keeps blowing ECMB 10amp fuse

I had that issue with my '90 Suburban a year or so ago. Mine was a short in the wiring near the fuel pump - I'd start there.

No Start - Smoke From TBI

Awesome; thanks so much! That vacuum hose is probably why my HVAC never felt quite right... It was pretty rusty under the distributor cap, so I'll try to start with the ignition control module and / or the pickup coil. I'll also check the MAP vacuum line to be sure, but I believe it was OK.

No Start - Smoke From TBI

Hi all, I have a problem I hope you can help me with. 1990 V1500, 350 TBI - all stock. Had what felt like hesitation at low RPM, so replaced the plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor yesterday. While doing so, noticed a vacuum line that was in pretty rough shape that comes from a T on the...

What is your daily if not square body?

Here's mine - 2008 4Runner, V8, Fox coilovers in the front, fox shocks and lift springs in the rear, TRD Pro knock-off wheels, Rigid LEDs in the lower grill, and some other stuff. I actually drive the burb most days, though I love both vehicles dearly.

    Some 89-91 help please.

I have a 1990 GMC V1500, and the last 8 are LF529760. When i replaced my grill over the summer, the letters on the factory grill looked to be well embedded in the grill (I couldn't see how they were separate). When i put the replacement on, I liked it that way and didn't even use the "GMC"...

What have you done to your square lately??

Hahaha, not exactly - pretty sure I was about to have a heart attack. But I have been explaining the experience to people like I was Bo Duke. I cut through some grass to avoid rear-ending a Super Duty that was in front of me and turning right. I'm sure they got quite the show watching the...

What have you done to your square lately??

Found out my driver's side tail light wasn't working. Changed the bulb, still no dice. Crawled underneath, and found where the splice had been made for the hitch wiring was all corroded and in miserable shape. Cleaned it all up with some butt connectors, and it's working like it should now...
