I have a 1990 GMC V1500, and the last 8 are LF529760. When i replaced my grill over the summer, the letters on the factory grill looked to be well embedded in the grill (I couldn't see how they were separate). When i put the replacement on, I liked it that way and didn't even use the "GMC" emblem I bought from LMC (still sitting in my garage).

Maybe they can be separate. The chrome just looked like they are together.

That looks like a 1 piece emblem, there's not even the slightest of seam between the letters.

Lol, those aren't supposed to be removable. The emblem is sold all as one piece.

Mesh is a good idea. Mine needs something, but I don't need something that would be a bug collector though.

That is why I just decided to use one of the aluminum powder coated black ones that goes in between the headlights. I am going to put some mesh behind it to fill in the gap some and then mount a 48 inch LED light bar behind it.... also going to black out all the trim, headlight buckets, etc etc.
