    Sorry for the confusion, no, a mile or two on the beach in 4lo then 2H on the highway. I'm in CA now and the truck in is AK. I'll be back up over Easter vacation and will check out a few of the ideas mentioned in this thread.

    Its all new (less than 10k) including radiator, pump, hoses, fan clutch. Its a 4 core with shroud. I'll have to look everything over again this year and shoot some temps in various places with the Harbor Freight temp gun. I'll put a trans temp gauge on it also.

    Adding gauges

    It's out of a pick up and I was just assuming that a factory dually would be a full float. The axle has hub caps on it so I can't see the end of the hub to check semi vs full. But according to the info in this thread, it would be a semi float? So, what's my next best choice to look for?

    Truck has two tone paint and we'd like to repaint it with just a single color. How is the molding covering the ling between the two tone paint attached? Is it something exterior mounted only like a double sided tape or are there holes in the side panels with some type of clip in them (hoping not!).

    I hadn't heard that and my son just recently bought the truck and the AC didn't have any freon in it so we couldn't test the temp. I'll check with the local AC shop and see if they have some R12 kicking around...

    Nope, 1985 C20 6.2l diesel from factory and 6.2l to this day. Since the pull out engine is going in and we banged up the compressor pulling the old engine out, it makes sense to upgrade the existing AC components at this time. Feel free to ramble on, I don't give a sh*t about your tea cup kids...

    87 tbi exhaust manifold pipe plug

    I had to do the same on my 1988 TBI manifolds. I got two drain plugs from Napa that fit perfectly. Unfortunately I don't remember the thread size but just take the tube fitting with you to match up the threads.
