73-80 vs. 81-87 side window glass

Cool, thanks. In your experience, is the blue hue of the earlier glass darker than the later stuff?

73-80 vs. 81-87 side window glass

@Redfish Tis the way it goes sometimes bud! Your truck is too nice for me to think you don’t know what you’re doing so we’ll call it faulty equipment.

73-80 vs. 81-87 side window glass

Quick question- I did a search and didn’t find anything but know it’s been mentioned- my truck is an ‘81, a guy gave me a passenger side window but it appears thicker. Also, the blue of the Soft-ray looks a little darker but hard to tell exactly on the garage. I did see guys like @Redfish had...

Custom fabric inlays on dash side panels- how to attach fabric?

Thanks! Did they actually have it in stock? Or how long did you wait? Seems like in the past they’ve had lots of issues delivering items in a timely manner.

That’s actually a really good idea. :waytogo:

Custom fabric inlays on dash side panels- how to attach fabric?

That is cool…where did you get the design from? Is it fabric or did you have it printed somehow?

Custom fabric inlays on dash side panels- how to attach fabric?

Thinking about doing something fun for the interior. TMI dashes (as nice as they look are out of my price range). They do one with blue plaid. So I got to thinking, the trim strip that goes by the vents, and the trim strips on the door panels….would there be a way to attach some fabric of my...

That’s about the only thing I could see these going on and not looking ridiculous.

Need help identifying 12v wire for electric choke

Shouldn’t there already be a wire that comes from the oil pressure sending unit? Unless it’s gone for some reason. I only know because when I got my truck, the wiring was a disaster. Apparently the choke gets power after oil pressure is sensed, then receives power.

    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

    Please Help I'm Stuck!

Hey Keith- Sorry for the question that may be obvious to some, but did all the trucks use the same wiring harness? As in, if a guy got all the hardware (cruise box, stalk, Speedo cables etc) is the wiring already on the truck? Thanks in advance. Chad

Also worth at least 15 hp.

What have you done to your square lately??

Since the knee has me somewhat sidelined, took my mom out for lunch and finally got that damn good chocolate malt I’ve been after. Boomers Drive-In doesn’t disappoint.

    Really tight front brakes!

Start soaking the hard metal line/rubber hose junction now with some PB Blaster. It’s not always a problem but it can be, especially if your truck has seen road salt.

Edelbrock carbs on a 350 sm blk

Exactly. I went from the stock (orange I think) springs in mine, no change with the bog. The 1906 already has a bigger accelerator nozzle than the 1406, and I’m on the most aggressive setting. Before I mess with it any more I’m going to wait for the AFR gauge to eliminate the guesswork. There...

What new tools have you got lately?

Got a fluid pump for the differential fluid from hobo freight. Had one at one time, must’ve given it away or it failed- nice to have a pump to put in a bottle with a tube to pump directly into the diff, very little mess.

Edelbrock #1487. That’ll do the trick.

Edelbrock carbs on a 350 sm blk

I have the 1906 on my 355 SBC. It’s pretty much bolt on, minor adjustment and run it. It does have a hesitation if I go from low cruise mode to WOT. Common complaint. On the AVS series, there is an air door over the secondaries- that is because they are an annular booster, and requires air...

What have you done to your square lately??

Up early by 5am, got the differential fluid changed. Cleaned up, threw the knee brace back on and went into the country. Shame that the Acme Diner was closed- I was hoping for a chocolate malt. After that drove back into town for some Ethanol-free. Did probably 60 miles today before the leg had...

What have you done to your square lately??

Today, I’ll be returning the non a/c heater boxes that were given to me, to their rightful owners. All the internals were really corroded beyond reasonable use, and what initially was a fun project to tinker with, took on a life of its own. I would’ve had to source most of the internal metal...

Well, there ya have it! Perhaps was low on oil, had pressure until what was in there pumped to the top of engines then was starving? Either way, glad you’re back on the road!

What have you done to your square lately??

Well, shoot. Just realized another thing. Well, I guess in a way I already had- with the non-a/c box, there is no more front vents. At all. I knew that I would need a new bezel that would eliminate those vents, but I was looking at my donor dash pad from a non a/c truck, and there’s no vents in...
