Truck is registered as an 84, but the cab MAY be a different year. This is under the dash , just under steering column. Never traced the wires, in the midst of reforming my seat.
Thanks

I have four chains hanging from the ceiling in my garage. I back my truck under the chains, unbolt my 8’ topper, and lift it enough to slide a couple of 2x4s under the topper. An eyebolt on each end of the 2x4s hooks to the chains. Lift it a couple inches and hook it to the chain and drive...
I’ve read that a pass side dipstick is on a 1 piece block, and a driver side dipstick would indicate a 2 piece rear main seal.
This always the case? Casting numbers on my block are darn near impossible to read. Was told it was a 444 replacement block??
I’d like to order parts and have them...
Excellent info sir. Thanks for that.
That can is full. I’m not sure how much the topper will need.
I can get the exact same brand/type locally at Napa. I’ll get the other items there as well. Summit won’t ship certain items to Canada.
Thanks again

Yeah it says GM Delco on it
As for the wiring, not sure yet. There’s a Clarion stuffed in there right now. I wanna put an uncut bezel back in. Not crazy about the AM only though lol.
Ah no
When I went to pick it up it was in MUCH better shape than he had described and I had been looking for one for almost 2 years. And I could tell that the old guy could probably use the big whopping $40. I’d probably give him more but that’s all the cash I had on me at the time.
Sorry...
Picked up a topper for my 84 for $40. Great shape except for busted front glass. No big deal.
Anyhow a few touch ups here and there and I’m getting closer to priming it before paint.
I’ll be tackling this myself. What primer should I use? Here’s a pic of a can of paint that came with the...
If you had an electric fuel pump kicking around, hook it up to pull fresh gas thru the lines before connecting to the carb. Maybe overkill but simple enough if you have one. If you prime it thru the carb before firing it off, consider a little 2 stroke oil in the gas you prime it with. Helps...
Newly rebuilt trans has about 500 miles on it, give or take. Trouble free.
Took the truck to town today. After an hour or so of running around to different places, the truck was hard to start. Seemed flooded. Once it started had to rev it up somewhat to clear the “flood”, so it would stay...
When I first start my 84, volts on gauge and sniper screen show batt voltage until I blip the throttle. Hot or cold, doesn’t matter. Then it goes to 14.1 or so.
This anything to be concerned about?
Thanks

Yeah lack of lube is definitely not the issue. Lots there.
Are the cylinders side specific? Possible both are for the drivers side I guess.
And do power and non power setups have the same cylinders?

What they said
On my 84 it’s on the left side of the fuse panel. Just a single spade connector is what I used as the spot on the panel I used doesn’t have a fuse. Used an inline fuse.

JUST back from 2 week turnaround with work. Still haven’t ordered anything yet. Gotta measure the length of what’s on there now to hopefully get a bolt in replacement. Mind are virtually brand new and only clamped in place so hopefully they come apart easily. It’s a long run of...
Looking for options for quiet mufflers for my 84.
Has headers and 2.5” exhaust. Ones on there now are way too loud. There when I got the truck. Headers are staying.
I’d be happy with stock sounding mufflers if I can find ones that will slip right in place of what’s there now once I measure...
