Ok, major transformation going down here. I need to sell the one ton to fund it but breakdown can commence. Going to put the square body cab on the complete 02 chassis and sell the other 02 parts as well. Gonna be a long thread so stay tuned. I'm gonna need help along the way I'm sure.

Well I am interested in seeing how this goes. I had asked in the past about sitting a cab on a newer frame and the general consensus was it was simpler to swap the LS into the square than going the other way. If you have a bad frame or something though this seems like a workable project. Good luck and keep us updated.

I'm not trying to sound like a dick in anyway, just figured I'd start with that since my letters are black and white and up for interpretation.

Have you thought about the body mounting, fuel tank location, BCM and other electronic integration? It sounds like a sweet ass project which would make a square essentially a 20 year newer vehicle but it sounds like sooooo much work. I have to agree that pulling the drivetrain from the 02 and stuffing it in a square would be faster and easier while yielding almost the same result.

anything can be done. i did a similar project not to long ago. I put a ‘78 ex cab ford on a 2000 suburban frame. i wanted all newer suspension/drivetrain and the ride height/tire size the way i wanted. it really wantthat bad to do, just measure 2 time and cut once.

i started by putting blocks on the frame and setting he body on them to make sure things cleared. i moved it and lowered it to get everything right then made new mounts for the body using the newer body bushings. I also got the wheels centered on the front fenders since that’s harderto modify then the rear would be.
