Got my Texas Speed headers and Ypipe in..... look at the majesty. And you ask " but Kyle you work for Holley why didn't you just get Hooker long tubes for your truck?" well, I would have but these are stainless and our hookers are just ceramic coated and no ypipe.

Those sure look nice. If you don't mind me asking, how spendy were those?

the headers full price are $450 and the ypipe is $150, but I got a good discount on them through a friend who never used them. he went turbo on his truck and these have been sitting around, still In the box.

Those are some cool headers and y-pipe.

I just scored a set of four struts in a similar fashion. All new KYB, in box, $160.

Yeah like the 4.8 I bought for the truck it was too good of a deal to pass up. I had intentions of building a nasty LS1 from a motor I have sitting in the shop that has spun rod bearing from a 01 TransAm (still going to do this over the winter when I have tinker time), but this 4.8 just fell into my lap. Another buddy was building a turbo elcamino and was intending on running the 4.8 but lucked into a LQ9 and I bought my 4.8 for $400 cause it was in his way, low mileage motor too sub 100k. Everything just kind of fell into place with this truck and that never happens for me haha, with my old red truck the list just kept growing and growing as I got into it.

Knocked the 2 years of stationary filth off of it today cleans up ok. It's a good 20ft truck.... meaning 20ft away you think "damn. That's a slick little truck." Then you get close....

Really looked at it close yesterday, I knew it needed rocker panels already. Those aren't an issue, takes a few hours for both side tops, but I didn't know it needs floor pans too. Pulled back the vinyl floor covers and they had pop riveted galvanized steel to cover the holes. So.... floor pans are happening too, which isn't hard either but my $600 truck is definitely becoming a $600 truck. It may not be pretty , but by God it'll be fast lol. I'm pulling my cylinder heads off this afternoon to take to machine shop for good valves and port work to be done then I gotta get the old check book out and start buying stuff, which is the worst part.... I love new parts but I hate buying new parts.

Well, as always plans change, build change, ideas and intentions for trucks change...... so to has the little blue truck. I have abandoned my 4.8 LS6 plans, buddy of mine wanted the 4.8 in a bad way to throw a bunch of turbos at, so sold it..... Now I am building my LS1, dropped it and a set of 842 heads off at the machine shop. Now the waiting game commences, I'm hoping for 500hp N/A out of the LS1.

ordered a custom grind Texas Speed cam today, 225/228 .620/.600 112 +2 LSA. should do awesome, my heads are milled .010", had LS1 titanium valves installed, .660 PAC double springs with chomoly push rods. Stock LS1 rotating assembly, ARP main studs and ARP rod bolts and ARP head bolts. Running a 92mm intake and 92mm TB, 36lb EV1 injectors. 3200stall for the 4l60. Little truck should scoot on pretty good, its not going to hit 500hp but it will be deep into the 400s.
