The frame has been cleaned up and painted in rust converter to stop what little was there. The tank hangers/brackets/whatever they’re called were also cleaned and painted. New straps installed with anti-squeak pads. Tanks and selector valve installed and plumbed.
The roll bar is removed and the bed will be going back on this morning in about an hour.
The battery did not survive the sitting so I’ll have to go get a new one.
She’s so close that I’ve decided to go get her plates when I go get the battery.
Still to do is to replace the windshield, and I will also be digging into the steering column. My ignition switch disintegrated and I replaced it with a dash mounted generic instead. But even though the switch broke with the column in the unlocked position, it’s probably still best to remove the column lock, just in case. Wouldn’t want that randomly engaging while on the road.
While I’m in there, I’ll replace the turn signal switch.
The last priority is to replace the dash lens I can’t see through. Everything else can be done as I find time - or as I replace parts I’m worried won’t survive being removed, like my door panels.
