I didn't do anything to mine, I'm a few hundred miles away from it but I spotted this at the Sam's club

Had to pull the battery last night - wanted to run it up to the store and battery bad (showed 12.5V with everything off but just turning on the parking lights dropped it to less than 8V measured right at the posts). Hopefully there is still some warranty on it since its only 3 years old....

When I pulled the distributor to remove the intake manifold I found a wiring mess at the distributor. I posted earlier about the one harness, which I replaced. The other mess was for the 12v power and tach wire. Ordered the correct connector with pigtail, soldered, shrink wrapped and sleeved the wires. This thing was soooooo close to a short.

It should be good to go for another 50 years!

Tried the C3500 intermediate shaft. I used a 88-2002. Got it in a salvage yard 25 bucks. Had to do just a little grinding on the stub shaft on the steering column. Worked out great, and got rid of the rag joint...

Installed a pair of .074 X .052 metering rods in place of a pair of .073 X .052's into the Eddy 1405 because I think I need just a teeny tiny bit less fuel moving through the primary jets at cruise...

Got everything mounted up and wired today just got to figure out what to do with the grille I'd have to chop up the stock one pretty good to fit and it's not in great shape and is 83 hard to replace so might have to make something or maybe get another grille to chop up instead

I need to do that...

I had a rag joint disintegrate after getting off the freeway doing 100+ mph. At that speed I wouldn't be here. It's a weird feeling when you go to turn and the steering wheel just spins...

Almost done with the flooring. I addressed rust in the pans, put down layer of Canopus 50ml sound deadener, and then 1 layer of 4mm closed cell foam. These will be topped with LMC's MIP floor mat.

Last night I finished off the water pump install with all new belts. Today I'll pull it out of the shop and top off the coolant, and order a new trans filter and seal, as all of a sudden I have a giant puddle of trans fluid under the truck. I also noticed that instead of bending the exhaust around a cross member someone cut out a patch of the exhaust pipe so it wouldn't it and welded it in place. I'll try to get a pic of that in the near future:rolleyes:

Before the heat made me stop (even inside the shop with fan going I was dripping salt water all over my Blazer) I started fit up of my bed rail caps.

The bed rails are all buggered up from the top being installed and removed over the years. I initially wanted to get them fixed and painted but after approaching several shops (either not interested or wouldn’t commit to keeping it inside) I changed course. Plan now is to trim and fit these stainless bed rails caps made for regular 73-87 squares, have them covered in the same vinyl the seats were recently covered in and install them with 3m tape, which is already on them.

So far very happy with how they fit the bed rails contours. The protective film is still on them and I’ll keep it on until the cutting and drilling is done.
