Finally fixed the passenger side power window. It was super slow and would stop about 1" from the top. Just a cleaning and some grease and it works now. Happy to not spend the $ on a regulator and/or window motor. It's still a little slow but it works. Good enough for me.

Installed overhauled injection pump and new lines.

I'm having SO much fun using aftermarket alternator & power steering brackets for my 454 K25.

Well, it's done. Aftermarket p/s bracket, 95 Dakota 2.5 pump, pressure hose from a 76 & brake booster vacuum feed nipple for return. The cobbled mess works!

YET ANOTHER SCARCE M1009 UPDATE!

Too much to say since last time:

Completed passenger side rocker panel. Patched everything on the floor - especially the rear corner/shelf that i had to remake from scratch (just to find out later on the porcelain throne peering through the latest LMC that you can buy it now). Removed the original shocks, prepped to put new ones and stabilizer on. Laid our signature raptor liner on the lower portion of the body/doors/cab floor to seal in the goodness and prevent future deterioration (or at least help). Cleaned out and resealed both differentials. Replaced transmission filter, resealed, replaced crusty modulator valve as well. Painstakingly wire wheeled the undercarriage in its entirety - coughing up rust flakes and black for week. As if my allergies couldn't get any worse. . . .

I had also gotten a little corny when it came to the door locks; the tips were broken off so i fashioned on some spent 300 BLK subsonic casings. Worked out better than i thought it would.

Came home today and found my brother had moved onto Phase 4 of the undercarriage and laid some primer. And tomorrow i plan on putting in the front floor mat and driver seat, along with all of the little trim and such that i had already got. Still waiting on some other odds and ends. Things like the strikers, weather stripping have already been done too. Also got the tailgate 100% rebuilt and workable. I had to get a new crank assembly and just swapped the handle part that always breaks off - beats changing the whole thing. Also had to use the rear glass from my Jimmy, as the original glass for this truck has been shattered. Who knows the last time it had a working window. It's the little things.

My Army buddy is coming over Sunday as he had made me some new custom stencils for the bumper tags. It used to be a 101st Airborne truck over in Europe at one point in its life, as it has the European reflectors on the tailgate and there are two little white spades on the front bumper and on the tailgate - I'm freshening them up. The last unit tag was CAJMTC, which was Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center, which is now an Indiana National Guard post. I'm going to repaint the CAJMTC and the spades, to pay respect to both playing a role in this truck's history. As for the truck number itself, it was painted over at least 4 times so i started fresh on a blank state. I'll personally pay homage to my designated Humvee 2-CT SECM contact truck B-520 and tag this old girl to match.

Anyways, way ahead of schedule. Goal was June 28th for the big local car cruise, looks like it could be first couple weeks of June at this rate!

That's the way the General should have built the M1009...in my most humble opinion. Looks great!

I pulled the bed from my $100 78 K10. We're using the bed floor & wheel houses on my 76 K10 that I gave to my son. I'm gonna set the cab on the SB K10 chassis that I bought a couple weeks ago. That's another project in itself. The 78 K25 GMC is awesome now that it has power steering too. A fella can actually drive it on pavement now.

The rain stopped long enough to take the cover off today. Checked the oil, topped off the coolant overflow(tiny leak in the rad) and drove it. It was nice.

Pulled the intake manifold to ship out for polishing. So now have several weeks to do odds and ends until manifold is returned.

The manifold is a vintage Weiand dual plane unit that has instructions on how to pronounce Weiand cast right into it. “SAY WHY-AND”. The polishing shop said they would definitely preserve all the wording. When I bought the 57 Chevy it had a Borg Warner T-10 4-speed gear box that had been polished with all factory markings/stampings removed. Wanted to make sure they didn’t do that to this manifold.

Cleaned up and reinstalled the coat hook.
