Wife mentioned a while back that she would like an old Bronco or Scout, since her father had both when she was growing up.

Visited a buddy (we’ve known each other since we were about 10 yo or so) a week or so ago to seeing how he was getting along with his pending divorce.

He had this out front with a for sale sign. Wife started talking to him about it, so he called his ex, told her my wife was interested, so they dropped price, and both asked to be allowed a ride when I get it back together.

Bigger project than what I want to deal with at the moment, but us buying it did bring some civility back to their conversations. Plus the wife is happy.

The 258 is on it’s last leg, so got to digging thru the barn, and think I have enough stuff to put a 5.3/nv4500/np208 setup in it.

Nice! I worked for International (Navistar at the time) when I bought my K5. I was tempted to buy a Scout, but decided on the Blazer because the parts for it were cheaper and much more readily available. Still, I love the old Scouts. Have fun.

Picked up some used wheels (17x9) and tires as 3 of the steel wheels that was on it has pin holes rusted in them.

She is not sure yet if she likes the looks of these, but got them at a good price. Will polish them back up eventually.

Slowly getting more and more of the red and yellow off the original blue paint. I think the 258 is DOA. She may have to have surgery on her right shoulder, so may go to an automatic trans in it.

Do have 2 others ahead of it, and a motor swap to do, but slowly rounding up parts.

Nice I had a 75 scout pickup with the removable top I bought from auction that used to belong to the fire department where I used to live down near Salem, they pulled the lights and decals and painted it black before selling it.

It had spot lights, front PTO winch, big heavy custom push bumpers with tow hooks, custom skid plates, PTO driven water pump and tank in the bed, 4" lift on a set of white dirt wheels and 35" Micky Mud tires. I sold the PTO water pump and tank out the back to another guy at the auction and ended up with a total of $500 in it. Drove it the way it was off and on for like 6 years before selling it. 4 speed, twin stick trans case, 2 PTO units the looks when I'd offer to let people drive it was hilarious.

I regret selling it as the guy I sold it to stripped out the driveline for a jeep and scrapped the rest, I was so mad it was spotless as the fire department hardly used it and didn't put many miles on it neither did I in the 6 years I owned it. If memory servs it had less than 50k miles on it.

Sadly, no pics was too long ago.
