That's what Ga changed to about 15yrs ago. It used to be paying taxes on whatever the bill of sale said you bought it for but too many people were taking advantage, so now they have a master book of values they go by. In ~2015 I got a '70 C10 for $1 from a family member cuz they wanted to see someone do something with it. This was long before trucks got popular, it was a shortbed 2wd 6cyl/3OTT. Pretty straight and mostly rust free but it was rough around the edges.

Back then, I considered this a "rough" truck lol. Today I look at it and go "that thing was cherry!". Anyway, the lady at the tag office said it was worth $18k  I showed her some pictures and said "does that look like $18k to you? It barely runs and the brakes are locked up". She called her manager over, they started brain storming and let me help with looking through the book. Turns out, they didn't even have a listing for a shortbed light duty truck in there for 1970. I don't remember where the $18k came from but we finally came to a middle ground by classifying it as a '70 panel truck that had a $6500 value.

Another state added to my ever-growing list.

In '24 when I had to get my OBS Crew Cab longbed registration, I brought the bill of sale and the title, plus the forms for Classic Truck plates. The sales tax bite on $4900 was not fun.... people said I should have written up a different BOS with a much smaller amount, and saved myself some $$.
We'll see what happens when I go to register the CCSB; I paid $3150 for it so at least the tax won't be as much.
Texas went to weight based registration fees years ago because too many people were registering trucks(particularly Suburbans) as cars to get cheaper tags.

I'm glad I only pay tax on the price listed on the bill of sale or the title when it was notarized.

Ignore the fact we fill that out ourselves when doing owner to owner sales it's always the price we paid for it I swear. :emotions33:
Same here. Thus the declarations mentioned.

The buyer and seller have to be on the same page though, as they DO occasionally check up on that later on if someone finds it fishy. They must do random checks or something.

What spec GT350? Here is my 16 Tech Pack... It was an unfortunate mistake buying the tech pack but I still enjoy the car.

I have a 20 HP/TP with the non leather Recaros. I had ordered an HP/TP Dark Horse, that Ford dragged the build on, so I found this with around 5 or 6k on it a few years ago. I love this thing, such a great driving experience. Only mod is the Steeda resonator delete.

I have an MGW and a Long Tube Header resonator delete. It is a great car, we do a lot of road trips in it with my wife and kid. The kid has already claimed it as hers, maybe when she graduates.

A couple days ago I went out to start my Suburban and something didn't look right. There on the seat was my rear view mirror. Apparently the adhesive failed after 26 years as that is when I last had a windshield replaced. This morning I did the prep work to re-attach the metal dingus to the glass since I had to order some JB Weld mirror stuff off Amazon and it will be here tomorrow. Notice in the pic is a hand carved/painted Santo that my ex and I got in New Mexico on the first road trip in the Sub in 1994. It was given to us by an old man in Chimayo NM to keep us safe. Also note the original super worn ignition key that I keep for olde tyme sake...

Nice :D I have a mirror to attach in mine too. Been dragging my feet on what adhesive to get/use. Curious to know if you are happy with the use of the stuff you got.

I've used the Permatex stuff many times over the years with good results. You absolutely MUST follow the directions to a T. I've seen guys use it and it doesn't work at all, but they have not been detail oriented guys. You must be clean, tidy and follow directions. Also do not mount the mirror to the tab for at least 24 hours, imho.

My old glass guy used some stuff that was incredible. He would apply it, then stick the mirror on a minute later and it was on there for good.

Must sound amazing! I have always love the sound of a 5.0 with an h pipe and flowmasters, but these FPC 5.2's are on another level! We haven't gone much further than an hour away in mine for no reason other than if we go further its usually for a couple of days, so we take the camper van and the dogs.

That's going to be one lucky kid, way cooler than the 88 Ford Ranger XLT I got when I was a kid (although I loved that damn little truck)!

Years back we just used "Krazy Glue". Haven't had the need to do a mirror for years and years.

Can confirm, I've used the Permatex kit many times over the years and never had it fail on me. I also don't hang the mirror on the tab for at least 24hrs

Alright, alright, you guys have convinced me..
But now the question is: Am I just a regular glue kind of guy? Or am I Professional level?
Or... do I crack open a Monster and go Extreme with it?

I used to have this problem almost annually with my Jeep - the last time it happened I used just standard JB-Weld but also used a small diamond-tipped tool and etched the glass slightly to give the adhesive something to grab onto.

It held for a good number of years - in fact when the mirror fell off again it still had the glass attached to the adhesive - the actual glass fractured and sheared away rather than the adhesive.
