    CT - 1987 RCLB V10, in pieces

Kansas City is only 21 hours away. Jump in the Burb, hook up a trailer and load as much as possible onto it. If it doesn't fit, pay my fuel and trailer rental fee and I'll haul the rest!

    CT - 1987 RCLB V10, in pieces

I feel kind of the same way. The truth is, I do not want a RCLB 4x4 Square Body. I would rather have a RCSB or RCSS 2WD since it's not going to be a work truck. There is no point in swapping my cab over to a short bed frame or cutting the existing frame down when it already needs so much...

    CT - 1987 RCLB V10, in pieces

Well guys, I am giving up on my truck. It was never what I wanted to build i the first place and the thought of sinking near $20K into something that won't be what I, no matter what, is enough for me to give up on this project all together. The truck is located in Oakville, CT 06779. Asking...

    Sportsmom from OK

Hopefully, this will be the ONE truck forum where women aren't treated like pieces of meat. Oh, Dave. My wife drives a truck, too. It just has a blue oval on the front.

    Soft Spot Cars

I guess I don't really have one, anymore. At least if I am understanding the meaning behind "soft spot cars". I used to be a fanatic of the GM Muscle Cars, but, once I realized they handle like **** I lost interest. They look nice going down the road, but, they sure don't like to corner. Well...

How many miles does your rig have?

What was your first squarebody experience?

In the winter of 87, my father and I were involved in a fatal car wreck that killed one young man when the Chevelle he was riding in the back of slammed into our 79 Grand Prix and someone else's station wagon. The Chevelle hit us with their side, guy in the back had no seat belt on and he...

If you had chance to do a extreme mod to your truck what would it be?

I've never been, nor will I ever be, a tree hugger. However, the idea of wasting fuel in "rolling coal" just doesn't appeal to me. Nothing like driving through a tunnel when someone who insists on rolling coal is in front of you. Don't get me wrong. I am always looking for ways to justify...

Should I or Should I not...

    I'd rather have a 68-72 over a Square, myself.

What is the appeal in "rolling coal"?

    Opinions on exhaust.

All I can say is stay away from Patriot Headers. I had those on my S10. There wasnt enough clearance between the tubes and head bolts to get in there and tighten everything up properly. I am sure the new owner will MF me if he goes to take them off!

    Buying engine crane/hoist

FWIW, when we put the motor and trans in my S10, the nose was removed and we had one chain going across the top of the motor from the front of one head to the back of the other head.

    Buying engine crane/hoist

The easiest way to pull a motor is to use a plate sold in most parts stores that bolts to the intake in place of the carb.

    Steel Cowl Hood Source

I just saw that AVS sells steel Square Body cowl hoods for $200. Every othe3r place I've seen selling these hoods wants at least $600. I'm not sure if they'll rape on shipping fees, but, it's hard to knock a $200 steel hood! http://www.avsontheweb.com/home.php?cat=171

    Buying engine crane/hoist

All the small tools I've bought from Harbor Freight have been junk so I wouldn't trust an engine hoist from them to save my life. As for the 1,000lb capactity, I would think you're pushing the limits of the crane with a complete SBC and Transmission. Mine has three adjustments. By adjusting...
