Not sure exactly what truck your is out of but I have one that came out my 87 GMC dually. Mine was replaced when a new big block was installed and it only got about 25k miles put on it before I bought the truck and tore it all out and went for a complete build with a cummins. So I have a like...
I thought the yorks were aluminum and I think that's actually the same article I learned that from. I have actually never come across a Tecumseh to date. All of the ones I've had have all been yorks. I guess I've just kinda learned what vehicles had them. They went on a lot of vehicles but not a...
From what I've read York and Tecumseh both made basically the same AC compressor. The main difference being the yorks were aluminum case and the Tecumseh version used a cast iron casing.
This one being aluminum I'm assuming is a York. It was pulled off of a early 60's mercedes. That's all I...
Sorry if this doesn't belong here but we use yorks for an air source for air ride so lowered suspension seemed like a good catagory for this.
So I recently acquired a York and after inspecting the crank shaft it's for sure a 209. It pumps well and would make a great EDC I'm sure BUT...this...
All of the junk yards in my area only want to sell the wheel with the air bag. Also it seems like the 1995+ steering wheels are made of a softer foam than the older models and any used ones I find have huge chunks missing out of the outer ring or their just falling apart from sitting in a junk...
The truck in question is actually my daily driver. It's a 1995 gmc 1500 shortbed. 1995 is the first year of the newer style interior and is equipped with an air bag. My problem is that the brackets holding the air bag into the wheel itself are broken and let's the air bag just about fall out of...
While I was doing my frame work and had my cab off the chassis I took all of my body mount bushings and threw them in a box. Now I'm going to put them back in and wondering if they go in a certain place. Some of them look thicker than others. Is that just because some are more worn than others...
Nope. Not that I can see. So far everything but the cam and lifter appear to be in great shape. This goofy thing was even still running just like normal when we started on it. It was just making a ticking like a bad lifter tick lol.
I'll post a pic of the cam when ever we get around to getting it taken out. It's the first cam I've ever seen with a dent in the love. I didn't even think that was possible.
I think it's a 2004.
The cam is smoked also. I looked down through the lifter bore and that lobe looks like it went threw a wood chipper. Pretty sure the engine is goin to have to come out on this one. I've not tore apart an LS series engine beyond the heads but I think the oil pump has to come...
Yep it's 100% stock. It's my sister in laws truck so I'd say it doesn't get beat on to much either. It was still running really well when we pulled it apart also. Just making a slight knocking noise from the valve train.
I know something was wrong when we had to use a slide hammer welded to a...
I pulled a bad lifter out of my little brother Tahoe last night with a 5.3L in it. We had to pull the heads to even get at the lifter. What a job that was. The bad lifter didn't want to come out and I couldn't figure out why. Little did I know what we were about to find. This thing started...
I tried it with no luck but I think your onto something with the hazard button. I pushed it in today and it didn't feel right. I don't really know how to describe it but it almost felt really gritty or something. I read that a lot of the blazers actual got recalled for the multi switch. I'm...
