Today after pulling my intake and heads I rolled my motor over and this fell out. I have NO idea what it is, and don't recall seeing it in the valley under the manifold when I removed it.

Any ideas?

Should have a little nylon clip on the bottom "tongue" in your pic that keeps it from pulling out when you pull the distributor. It has a ring on the inside that clips into the groove on the shaft and the oil pump.
