So i keep hunting for one with no luck and only come up with an aftermarket universal 3 port. Does anybody have a working original?? Or know if the non working original is rebuild / repairable?

Im not trying to rewire up that huge plug. Rather just use a single wire 3 port. Im ok with universal but as long as its plug n play.

Are you sure you want a used one, I just looked at my trucks selector, it’s a 6 port. The one on my gas tank for the 78 I can’t see without climbing some shelves and it’s about 100 degrees past death in my shed so I was gonna check early in mornin

Honestly my ol girl is off the road due to rust right now, i found a bed but its right tank only. The side that my truck dont work!!! So im trying to find a switch valve and at least use that side so i can swap beds and get er rollin again.

Is the gas tank good? If it’s been sitting you may want to pull it and at least dump it and check it for debris if your bed is off you can just take the ring off unless you already are this far into it. You could hard plumb that tank only, too

Story is that the switch valve died on the PO, his wife put gas in the wrong side and he the drained the gas, cut off the filler neck and blocked the filler cap. Ive never tried to use that side knowing this but i have thumped on the tank and looked down the hose and i know its empty

Plus bein a factory silverado with dual tank id really like to keep it so i can modify the left side later to become dual tank again.

Story is that the switch valve died on the PO, his wife put gas in the wrong side and he the drained the gas, cut off the filler neck and blocked the filler cap. Ive never tried to use that side knowing this but i have thumped on the tank and looked down the hose and i know its empty

Is the bed off? I’d at least consider taking the sender out and making sure the float isn’t rusted solid. If it’s empty, it’s probably not what you’re hoping for inside. But you have the option then of soaking it in vinegar and could pump it out. If that was a problem. Plus this is an opportunity you could plumb return lines for your truck with a 3 port fuel filter and a little line with the bed off just need the senders. You would run the port back to both tanks with a y fitting and just leave a few gallons of room in the tank you fill as secondary and voila you can retain the 3 port

No the beds not off right now. Its still sitting at work waiting for me to rent storage, empty it all out and get it to the body guy..

Hmm, if I were you I’d secure a tank either used or new with straps installed, once you pull the bed you could make the call on using it or not, but the reason is you wouldn’t be waiting on parts amd could sell it if you don’t need it easily as an assembly. This way you are drop in and go worse case, don’t need to worry best case

I couldn’t find the one for my 78. It’s a k, do you think the valve is by the transfer case? I noticed that the fuel lines come under the cab are just two of them. So the switcher either is next to my t case under the cab or it’s missing. I thought it aS on the tank. But that was just the filler neck
I just showed a pic also of my 80, it’s been derelict for years and I can’t tell how many ports. If want it’s free plus tiny bit of money so not free most likely doesn’t work and full of mud
