Dual Tank Wiring Harness Help Needed

I have 1987 V10 and am having issues with the dual tanks...I know welcome to the club LOL. When I replaced the dual tank switch, the original wiring harness that plugs into the back of the acutal switch was crumbling. I replaced the switch as when i would switch the tanks, the entire truck would shut down. replaced the switch, same issue, then I thought its the wiring, so I bought the wiring harness from the guys at New Boys Squarebody Resucue. The issue I have is the color of the wires does not match and want to be sure before I cut and splice the new and the old together. Here are the pics, new is the green/pink wires, old is the black/yellow/white.

87 switch is different than 86 and prior switches,my money says you put 8n an 86 and earlier switch. Look at the end view of both pigtails side by side. It will be obvious which wire goes to which cavity and this each connection on the switch. Looks like light green goes to right top corner,pink,directly below that, black next to pink,which leaves dark green in the top left corner. Look at both connectors to verify . I'm doing this from 2 so,so pictures. Make sure the plug fits your old switch to verify it's even the right connector.
