Trying to find: VALVE,AIR CONDITIONING AIR INLET,AT PLENUM PANEL, Part# 6262685-a

This is the door that is under the outside cowl that allows fresh air into the cab.

Haven't been able to find one in new condition and was hoping someone might have run across a place that makes them. I'd hate to buy a used one and it have the same issues as mine - the 'hinge' part of the plastic is broken.

Here is a pic:

I think I have one in almost new condition in the garage. I'll check when I get home from work and take some pictures.

I found a good used one on ebay when I broke mine.

I found a couple. One looks like it was cleaned and painted the other looks like something chewed on the edges.

Maybe some sort of ultra thin piano hinge attached with rivets.

Tried exactly that but the hinge would bind. I think because the plastic was partially connected still. If 82sbshortbed doesn't have a good one I may cut mine all the way and reattach it and hope it works.

Yep, in order for the piano hinge to work in place of the plastic hinge, you’d have to remove material to at least the diameter of the hinge eye.

82sbshortbed glad you posted those pics of passenger side vent assembly. I am going to have to reassemble mine in the near future and this helps be with getting back together.

Check this place -

https://www.thepartsplaceinc.com/

Or Ebay

At least for the acuator......

ebay - I found a couple. One looks like it was cleaned and painted the other looks like something chewed on the edges.

The actuator is good on mine it's just the hinged part is mostly cracked. I am just going to cut the rest of the plastic and put a stainless hinge on it which should solve the problem.

@Scott91370,

Yeah, the one that lets air into the system from the valance. Mine is still there although the vacuum pot is dead I think. And I believe the pot behind that vent door @82sbshortbed showed is also dead. Scott, if you find one in pretty good shape the vacuum pot might be dead so be on the look out for a good pot as well. And while you're at it, when was the last time you selected "vent" on your heater a/c control slider and that kick panel vent didn't move? If so, then you need a vacuum pot for that door as well.

That valance door is what let's fresh air into the cab from that kick panel door. When you select "vent" both of those doors should open at the same time. I hope your engine is creating enough vacuum to pull that hard. Have you tried to push on that kick panel door? That spring is a booger!
My engine creates 17 inches of vacuum at idle. If you don't believe it I'll take a pic and show you. But I don't know how much vacuum it would take to open that kick panel door. I know the valance one doesn't take much at all. Any pot that's till on those panels will be as old as the truck! Think about it.
