Preciate it. Found some new old stock white dumbo mirrors to run but that might be too much white lol

Have you thought about combing the two? Use the White door attaching piece and the SS arm, and mirror, or vise versa? Break up the white a little...

I’m getting away from the aftermarket air cleaner assembly.Decided to go to factory assembly.Refurbished the housing and lid, filled holes.Have the plastic pieces.

My thinking is it will supply cooler air and the filter should be less prone to getting wet.

Thoughts?

I've never been a big fan of the stock air cleaner. Than again I've never had one like yours with the big inlet. I'm sure if you get the hose that runs down to the core support, you will have plenty of nice fresh cool air. Looks like you did a good job painting it, looks nice. Do let people here know if you see any difference good or bad. I have thrown away everyone I have ever had.

Lots of time! Need to have a good base to start with, and then you can cut the clear with progressively finer sand paper and then bring the machine out to start buffing and that's another 3-4 steps of process. The drivers side was in much better condition than the passengers side. It only needs some scratches and flaws smoothed out and the clear buffed and polished. It had quite a bit of orange peel in the finish and that's the other part i'm working to clean up. And at this point it's almost glass smooth. Fortunately whoever repainted this truck 20 some years ago put the clear on pretty damn thick so I had plenty of material to start with! To the point I bet I could've started with 320grit and still had enough clear to polish out!

Many moons ago, I made quite a bit of money as a youngster on the side detailing vehicles and doing spot touch ups for people on the weekends. I got pretty good at it, and people would see me around and say to me "Buff, I need you to buff my vehicle." Word of mouth went a long way. as for the truck, On the passengers side the clear was pretty much burned off over half that side, so I needed to add clear back to it, I started sanding to make sure the base was still good enough to lay some clear on, but with a metallic base it dulls it down quite a bit taking a few layers off but it wasn't about making it a show quality finish at this point.. I was just tired of that side of the truck being so ugly! Lol It still has it's flaws on that side, but even sitting in the garage it looks 10 times better than it did! Like I told my wife, I have well over 500 pics of the truck on my phone since I bought it and only had about a dozen pics of the passengers side because that was the ugly side. But not so much anymore, it looks so much better now and will keep me content until I take it down and do a full redo next winter. Its just a shame the truck sat in that 3 sided hay barn with the right side taking daily beatings from the sun and burning off the clear for 4 years before I bought it, because the left side is probably going to turn out better than new when i'm done with it. The last step for now in the coming weeks is going to be painting the cowl hood I installed when I rebuilt the engine, it needs to match too!
@QBuff02 , Oh no, no, you misunderstood me. Just grab all your stuff and come on over and DO mine!!!!.....LOL

Damn, I hadn’t but that’s a great idea. Planned on hand engraving the bracket cover and then get it PC’d but breaking the white up with the SS arm would be pretty fresh

Man, it is, had been repainted probably 15-20yrs ago. Customer who brought it in just turned 50 and his wife surprised him with it. Which is pretty fuxkin cool of her...I’m just glad my girl knows that if she was to bring a truck home it’s gonna be a 2wd, shortbed, big window truck

a lot of square parts in Georgia. Nice looking trucks , got my used radiator support in Georgia. Seems to be some beds around there , hope I can find a long bed dual tank bed when I get ready to buy one. Getting hard to find those . Looks like you have plenty to keep you busy ! Good deal .
There’s a lot of em still on the road too. In my neighborhood in the city, there’s about 6-8 elderly black gentlemen who bought theirs new, and still daily drive em, being a younger white gentleman myself, they get an absolute kick out of seeing me and my 3 trucks

Out in the garage cleaning up these back brakes and I thought, with both back Brake lines not hooked up, what would happen if I was to push thebrake pedal?

It should be easy to push and squirt fluid out. I slammed the brake on my doge Dakota and blew out the rear cylinders in an emergency and had to limp it home from work. Brake fluid was all over my wells.

Well this time the pedal was just as before. No difference. What does that mean? Bad proportion valve or Mc?

Pump pump pump and nothing. Full Mc

Tore down the pass rear brakes. And they're trash. So I'm going with the rebuild kit for both rear wheels. The cylinders push rods are impossible to get. The ones I got from Napa are to short I'm afraid.

New push rods on driver's side

I think after putting this on my brakes should be good to go. New drums, shoes, cylinders and springs should be able to lock them up. Lol

Push pins are trash

One of the main reasons I bought this kit was new push rods come with it. Not gonna cheap out on brakes anyway. Really not that expensive anyway. After getting to take it apart and put back, it's not as bad as I'd thought. It needs to be done for safety purposes.
I usually wire wheel the hell outta my push rods and reuse them

Why? What in the hell made ya do this...if ya thought it would be easy, why would you slam on an system that usually is operating around 1500psi. What were you hoping to get outta this lil experiment?
I have so many questions about this lol
