I have this oil filter cooler on my truck and believe it has a small leak. My question is this the correct gaskets for it and are there torque specs for the two bolts that mount it or just make them snug.

Tight is tight. Too tight is broken. Just tighten it with a regular ratchet and it’ll be fine. I wouldn’t feed it all the ugga duggas from a 1/2” gun.

What size and grade are the bolts? I actually would keep trying to find a torque spec. if that fails then look up torque by bolt diameter and grade. The flaw in using make it tight but not too tight, or specs by bolt diameter and grade is they don't take into account expansion and contraction. Some cars for example if you overtorque the head bolts the head bolts will break when they get hot because the expansion of the bolt the head and the block aren't all the same. Some will pull the threads out of the block, some will stretch the bolts so the heads are loose when the engine cools. Not saying that will happen to your cooler, but if you can find the spec, use it. FWIW if I don't know/can't find on 5/16 I use 17ft lbs 8mm 18ft lbs 3/8ths or 10mm 25-30 depending on if they are in aluminum or iron.

*Sizes from 4 to 10 are in "in.-lbs."
Sizes from 1/4" up are in "ft.-lbs."
**Fine thread figures are for 1-14.
Grade 2, 5 and 8 values are for plated bolts.

It looks like there's three different type of bolts for their respective adapters through 87 to 98 it appears after yank them and see what size the bolts are thanks for the responses. I was just hoping there was a one-size-fits-all for this application I should have known better.

The same year manual should have the diagram. It should have the torque spec. I can look at my 1980
I have a stock one too

grade 5 bolts and tighten until good and tight.. really simple.. o ring seal is how most of the later years ones seal,, early ones had flat gaskets.. the old school ones back in the day anyways... these oil cooler aux filter thingies were a good place for a major oil leak and loss of al the motor oil and engine lock up seizure.. especially o the conversion vans etc.. happeen quite a bit actually... the lines/fittings leak or rupture etc and bye bye al l the motor oil i a short period of time and then lcked up motor... i just had an 89 G20 conversion van wih locked up seized 350 motor in it due to this very thing jut last year that i stripped parted out scrapped,, when the oil all leaked out from the ruptured aux oil cooler system, and the motor locked up the battery had actually somehow blown up.. anothe common occurance with thse vans is the radiator cooler rpturing leaking oil into coolant badly... in the stock alum plastic tank radiators, in thse vans.. also happens quite a bit too..

If your worried about it it's simple enough to wire a relay and an op switch to kill the fuel pump or kill ignition power when there's no oil pressure.
