I've run BFG A/T's on several trucks over the years. On my K30 I went with the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. So far they have been great. One of the reasons I went with these is they have the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake rating for snow.

I’ve got BFGoodrich Baja champion all-terrain T/A KO2’s in 315/75R16. Stock ride height on my 1980 K25. The PO trimmed the front fenders, so they must have had 35’s on it at some point before I got it. No rubbing at all. It will be getting a 4” lift after the engine/trans swap is complete and before I put new fenders on.

The BFG’s also had the mountain snowflake M&S rating, which lets me go over the cascades in the winter without chains since it a 4wd... which is a big plus during hunting season. Also they only cost me $40, total, for the whole set... which was a huge factor in my choice of tire

Yeah, the tire when new was nice and bouncey (i put my tires to a bounce test before I mount them. if they hit the ground and thud with no hop, its too old)
Its not an LT rated tire tho, its a heavy P rated tire. Depending on your expected use you may need to move up to LT C or D load range. My truck does see some work, but I dont stress it with a lot of tongue weight or go past 1000lb in the bed.
Very quiet, and the truck tracks nicely. Tires arent pulling the truck around the road. I dont know what 4 all the way around would be like, however. I have cheap walmart HT tires in the front. 2wd.

The BFG's are E-rated also, which was a must for me since I'll be using mine as a tow pig. I also pretty regularly load up the bed and have had ~4,000lbs in the bed on more than one occasion. It's a 8600 GVW truck though, so I don't like to put anything lower than D rated on it. I got the tires from a guy who upgraded his 2500 Dodge to 37's and apparently no-one around here uses 16's anymore. He had them listed for over a month and finally I just offered him $40 so he could get them out of his garage and he took it. One tire has probably 20% life, but the other 3 where about 60-80%.

I had the General Grabber AT2. Now running BF All Terrrain KO2 and like them way more than the General.

I had the General Grabber AT2. Now running BF All Terrrain KO2 and like them way more than the General.
I have 5 year old, used KO2 from a 2005 silverado, they did great considering they baked in the sun for those years of no use

I’ve used kumho, general, BFG, mastercraft, and Firestone. The kumho and general at tires only gave me about 30k miles. The mastercraft tires were the at2, which gave me about 50k. The BFG gave me between 65-70k miles. That’s not a typo. Nearly 70k miles on my 2006 z71. They had about 5k left on them, but I got lazy on my rotation. They were by far my favorite set of tires. They were the old style though, I don’t know how the KO2 holds up. The firestone had about 20k on them when I sold the truck, and they were about 1/2 tread. They were the p rated tire, not LT. IF I can afford it, the BFG will be my next set. If not, it’ll be the general knockoff. But I’ll say this, those BFG went everywhere I wanted to, and gave me good Highway manners too. I’ve also had good results with the original BFG MT, I’ve never ran the second or third generation tires. I loved the look of the originals, and they performed very well for me. It’s too bad they stopped making them. To me the newer styles are not as aggressive looking. The old style just had that classic mud terrain look.

BFG AT TA's are great in the snow and mud, and go down the road well, mine are 33". These replaced Cooper Discoverer radials, an exceptionally good tire in snow, I think better than the BFG AT's.

I have KO2's on another truck, and I have almost 50K on them. Still plenty of tread left. They are an excellent all around tire.

I agree with you completely on the design of the new muds. What a shame

Cooper Discover AT3. We run them on everything from Duramaxs, lifted trucks to stock 1/2 tons. They handle excellent In and on all road conditions. Also, LT rated for hauling, which we do a lot of. We get a lot of miles out of them too. Usually in the 45 to 50K range. Please do yourself a favor and look into them. You won’t be disappointed.

Interesting that no one runs the Nitto Grapplers of any sort on their old squares. They seem to have a following on newer rigs.

Thanks for the input, I currently have a set of Firestone Destination A/T on mine but I haven’t put them to the test yet, has anyone ever used them?
I had them on one of my work trucks. They were factory set on my 2012 Colorado. I got 50k miles out of rhem on that truck. I liked how they handled off road.

Interesting that no one runs the Nitto Grapplers of any sort on their old squares. They seem to have a following on newer rigs.
I think a lot of the Squat and Brodozer crowd runs them.
