It is a 83 1500 350 4wd 4spd. not sure what the tranny part # is but it has the "granny gear" with high low range transfer case it is a NP case but not sure what model (204 maybe). I am thinking its the wrong fork. the cab is a 87 and was a 2wd automatic and i put it on a 84 long bed 4wd frame all the pedals and linkage are off the 83 but someone could have put a hydrolic fork in it. im going to try getting one of the manual forks and change it. I sure would like to see them side by side to see the difference.

Dang man, if my squares weren't an hour away I could run out and snap a couple pics for you. I won't be up there till Saturday though.

As it is, I think you have the wrong z bar. Mine is a manual clutch and I don't recall it being bent over like C4's

I don't recall it's supposed to be bent either. I'd imagine C4's is bent due to some twisting and rough wheeling. He may have bent it on purpose to compensate for articulation. Which, you may wish to consider swapping to Hydraulic too someday Danial. Many advantages to Hyrdo with a 4x4. I am a Z bar manual linkage Muncie 4 speed guy forever, but after hearing from other wheelers and seeing things myself, I'm convinced Hydro for sure is the way to go for a 4x4. You can bet your ass though. I go 2wd or drag race manual, it's going to be Z bar or nothing.

It doesn't appear the OP came back with any resolution Travis. Do you have a bit more detail on your situation? Was it an auto converted to manual? Any parts appear to be aftermarket or off different body style trucks etc?

If I had to guess, broken motor mount. Engine jumped around and bent it.

Here is pic of the Z bar in my 77 after a NV4500 install. From looking at your pic, it does look like the clutch fork is the issue. I did need to fab a push rod to make it work. Notice that the clutch fork Advance Adapters sent for this install has two positions, one for a hydraulic slave cylinder (inner) and the other for the manual linkage (outer). Also needed to modify the Z bar frame bracket in order to move Z bar mounting point forward about a 1/2 inch to keep everything in line.

https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/clutch-types-z-bar-manual-and-hydraulic.3424/ scroll down in the thread theres a good pic of same angle of a factory stock mech clutch lik and frame bracket.. and the ball stud is supposed to be in bellhousing 73-up. in 72 older the ball stud was a bracket with two bolts into motor block just above the filter. and the z bar may be shorter and from a 250 motor. and fork probly is wrong one.
and the fork in the above pic looks alot like a 72 older cast one. i have a factory one of those around here somewhere and the iron bellhousing is sitting right here by me now.,

Earlier in this post you said something about a shorter fork for the manual

How much yo uwanna bet because my gpa went from 85 or so and moved it to his 80 he never changed the fork? I Have my original bellhousing and fork, i bet this one is for hydro which explains the clip he added.

Isn't the slave for a hydro on the passenger side? or did ole Gpa rig up a slave to mash on the existing fork??
Something I'm thinking about trying on this Blazer my daughter is putting together?????

Yeah Shakey, having the same thoughts on the 327,Muncie 4 speed I'm putting in my Grandson's S10. Looking at a mechanical linkage, but also thinking about rigging up a bracket for the hydraulic to work. Trial and error!!!!
