Kind of a dumb question but I need to know before I buy it. Seller says its from an 86 truck but they thought it was a mechanical clutch. From the pictures I think its a hydro clutch and the year would also have one in it. just want to make sure before I spend probably too much money on it.

Thanks!

Great Thanks! I was thinking that as well as the lack of spring for the mechanical return but figured it would best to ask as the damn thing is going to cost $300

When I was going to set up the Suburban for a manual those were the pieces I needed. Ended up doing a 700R4 in the end but I'm fairly certain the rods were unique to the hydraulic master. See if you get a second opinion, but I think you'll be okay.

Have you priced all the other parts needed? Does the hydraulic clutch setup require a hydraulic type bell housing? Have you checked into a hydraulic throw out bearing? Seem to run around $600+ at summit. Sorry for all the questions.

So I plan on going to the NV4500 so I wont be needing the other bits, just the pedal assembly. the other parts I plan on getting from high-impact.net
However, I did see and loose another auction on flea-bay for the hydraulic bell housing, fork, master, slave and pedal assembly it went for about $360 total. I did see just the bell housing sell for about $400. Only reason I resorted to ebay instead of a junk yard for the parts is that my local yards squares are pretty picked clean of these parts.

That sucks, i just pulled parts from an 80 with a 4spd that may have worked for you (parts i mean) but damn the distance.

To be honest I did not even think to make a WTB post. The shipping would have been pretty spendy but these things are like gold around here for sure. I also found a good line on a good and free to me manual transmission, tilt steering column. so far I'm thinking I got the hard to find parts down. Just need the spendy part.. The transmission itself. :throw:
