Hey Guys
I checked the frame but there is no Vin. Does somebody has an other location?
I also checked the heating, no matter which option i choose, no air is coming out the vents in the dash. I thing the part is really missing. Can somebody check it at his K10 without Ac? Or c10

I have A/C in my truck, so I have never looked at the heater in a truck without A/C. However, based on the pictures in my repair manual, you have three cables connected to the back of your dash controls. One moves the heat blend door (same as on an A/C truck), and the other two cables control the diverter doors for defrost/heat. Maybe one of those cables is disconnected.

If you take out the screws on the bottom of the glove box door, you can remove the entire glove box. This makes it easy to see all the vents behind it, and also see the blend door cable where it attaches to the heater plenum.

Good morning Bruce,
i will remove the box and check the cables. In which option should the air came through the dash vents? And how can i switch off the blower? Do i have to replace the old climate control unit?

Please see link below- it shows pictures of the heat and air conditioning switches in our trucks.

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/csb/t.aspx?Page=2

If the one in your truck has the Vent option that will allow air thru the dash ducts.

If your truck does not have a Vent setting then over here it would not have had dash ducts, either.

If your truck is like ours the blower runs all the time at a low speed - it is called Continuous Ventilation .

Can you get pictures of your dash and HVAC switch?

I made some pics from my dash and the ccu. As you can see, i don‘t have a special vent setting. In the last picture, you can see that the vent don‘t have any channel connected in which the air can flow...
My truck has the same blower like yours! There are three stages for the blower. Which stages does the middle setting has?

Looks like someone put an ac dash ( or cab ) in place of what was there to begin with .

This can be the answer about the different Vin...
On the passanger side i have the same ductwork but from there, there is nothing to the vents. Does the non Ac dash has no vents?

I need the original vin! Any other locations?

Correct - the non ac dash would not have vents.

VIN is typically on the dash, visible from the outside.

Thanks a lot!
What is normally in the hole above the control unit in a non ac dash? Then i need a dash with the vents.. Horrible!

I‘ve learned that the first trucks don‘t have the vin on the dash. There is a plate in the door and maybe on some other places?!

Since you are overseas, something like eBay is probably your best bet if LMC doesn't sell it.
