Hi guys,
iḿ a proud owner of a chevy k10 1973 with a 350cui :) Very rare in germany and it takes a loong time to get one. It was shipped from california and arrived before christmas. Now, there are some things to do and the first thing will be to make the heating working correctly. Iḿ looking for the duct with is connected to vents. At the moment the air is somewhere in the dash but mostly in the floor. I looked at LMC but the are not able to sell me these part. Maybe one of you can help my out or has an idea where to get these part.

best regs,

I keep my fingers crossed! Actually it is very uncomfortable. We have winter in germany and it is pretty cold.

Does a duct from a Suburban fits?

A duct from a Suburban should fit, since the dash components are the same across the truck, blazer/jimmy, and suburban lines. Just make sure you get it from one in the right year range. The dash design changed in (79/80?) and the HVAC ducting could have changed at that point.

Okay. Found one from a Suburban and hope that the seller will respond to my mail. There is one crazy thing: i asked a guy who has same k10 for sell but in no truck is the mentioned Hvac. For me, it makes no sence. The air from the blower should get a distribution?! Or was it normal to blow just in the dash?

That piece of ductwork changed slightly in design over the years, I think.

When in the "heat" position, most of the airflow should come out at the floor. The dash vent ducktwork is active primarily in the "air cond" and "vent" settings.

If the truck doesn't have factory A/C the ductwork may be different.

No, it doesn‘t have a factory A/C! I don‘t find any documentation where it is clearly discribed. I try to make some pics on saturday. Maybe someone has some pics from the hvac? The guy with the havc from a suburban don‘t deliver to germany... Damn it

And i only have „Off“, „Heater“ and Defrost! Is there a possibility to switch off the blower?

Welcome to the site.

If you have a heater only system (non-a/c) you will only have ducting to the windshield defroster, the heater will have vents the drop heat to the floor at the center hump.

The picture you have shown is for an factory a/c system. Non-A/C vehicles have no dash vents.

Okaaayyy.
I have three vents in the dash. Same positions like the picture. But all three don‘t have a connected hvac. In a car without ac, the three aren‘t installed?! In that case i have an ac dash without the compressor and the ccu :-D

This will be pretty bad.

Don‘t know if it fits. Maybe one of the others can help?

I also have a question about Vin. It is another theme but i hope it is ok to ask.. Where is the Vin also located expect of the door plate? Background: the plate in the door says it is a c20 but it is a k10!

The VIN is also stamped on the frame. The location seems to vary but the most common location seems to be on the outside wall under the passenger door. See the picture of my K10 frame from this summer. This is on a 84 frame.
