Alright fellas I have ordered two different temp senders from summit racing and both have been too big to thread in the side of the block. This is for my gauge. 87 gmc 350 sbc. If anyone could provide a part number that would be awesome!

It looks like the P/N for the sender you need (with 3/8 -18 NPT threads and the "nail head" style terminal) is 25037346.

I looked around for a few minutes and it quickly became apparent that these are getting real hard to find. It may be case that the best place to find this part is at the junkyard.

Yes, and that's all good - if the part that the customer actually receives is what is pictured in the listing. But anecdotal evidence suggests that - when it comes to this particular part - what the vendor ships is rarely what is shown in the picture.

If you order on line, you'll either get a sender with the button type terminal and 1/2" NPT threads - or you'll get one with 3/8" NPT threads and a blade type terminal.

Seriously, a coolant sender with 3/8 -18 NPT threads and the button type terminal is getting wicked hard to source.

I noticed that on 1 review for that part. Cust dissatified because they received the blade type connecter. As I've already suggested, I'd say to hell with that expense, and especially not knowing what I was going to get, I'll use the intake manifold. If I have to get a thermostat housing for the 1/2in NPT then I'd do that too. I've had one there before and it's nice to see the thermostat working properly too.

I have used the intake manifold fitting on my Edelbrock intake in the past, and I'll have to see how the new sending unit fits. In the past I tried to use the sending unit for an aftermarket gauge, and it had a threaded post that stuck up so high that it was almost punching a hole in the radiator hose. The flat button terminal on the TS6 may work bettter since it has a lower, flat profile.

Yea this is the only part I have had trouble getting. And what the vendor is listing most of the time is incorrect. Hence I ordered two different senders with two separate descriptions and they both were the exact same.
