Secondary metering rod size?

I don't have an axe that needs grinding but I stayed one night at a motel 6..

Most of the (we're talking Chevy here) factory produced blocks for the past few decades are high nickel alloy as a weight saving design.. There is a bit of extra strength but not enough to rave about.. The last 3 digits of the casting number 010 originally designated 4 bolt main arrangement.. I can't begin to count the number of 010s I've come across that were 2 bolts.. Unless one is shooting for the moon horse power, a 2 bolt block would probably serve purpose.. I've built countless 383 cid Chevys based on 2 bolt blocks.

I'm with @Honky Kong jr in that there's not much in the line of mods done to an engine that will equal increasing the displacement..

Motel Six must be the way to go then.

350 4 bolt main sounds cooler though. I would guess, that as a novice, no matter the block designation, wall thickness and bolt arrangement, that I should buy a $150 block and go with it... That is of course if I so desire to learn to build. Then if I can manage costs of a machine shop or buying equipment myself, build it bigger.

Also, Honky Kong jr suggests a fuel injection setup, but I've heard a properly tuned Qjet can get the job done and quite well. Speaking of properly tuned... My original question was about secondary metering rod size... I wonder if that question will ever be answered...

I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express and I’d take that slobberjet and put it in the museum it belongs in. Lol I like my Holleys and as far as FI set ups there are plenty to choose from just not OE TBI:puke:accually that’s an accurate portrayal of a TBI system in operation. LMMFAO

I've been reading through this for about an hour now. I can't find my Qjet in there anywhere. But there is a lot of useful info in there. Thanks for that.

The closest thing I found is that a '77 C20/C30 uses a CP rod(s) and mine has a CN rod(s). Both are similar but I am finding conflicting info about length on the CP rod. One site says it's a medium length the other says short. Not that it matters, this truck is newer by almost a decade.:banghead:

Oh... and now I have a splitting headache.
