Missing a main cap? Improperly stored? Flash rust? Where do I sign up?

Nothing at all favorable here. Missing a main cap means expensive line bore required. May as well buy new splayed mains and make it a 4 bolt if going to use it. Heads are low performance junk. Could be worked over with many hours with the dremel to open the ports and remove the NOx smog bumps.


235cu in. Like how he says 3 speed on the floor. I wonder if that means it's a SM420 which is actually a 4 speed. Or if it's the old shoe box Non synchro 3 speed moved from the column at one time. Doesn't really matter, it's a 3 speed that can go either way.

Yeah, as soon as I read missing main cap, I knew the price to make it run jumped exponentially with line boring. Never followed BOP enough to identify heads, but kinda figured with all the issues, it was scrap metal now anyway.
