I used to run a Crane Compucam 2030 (i think? 2040?) 2030 I think - in my L69 and it was the pwwwnnnnnn! I smoked so many fools with that 305!!!
Omg so many....it was really bad.
And the one day I spun main bearings runnin low on dirty oil in front of a Corvette and built a 350.
Lookin back , I really wish I would have hung on to that 1987 L69. Those are GREAT motors!
SO....if you find the specs on that cam, I vote for something close to that.
I had my heads milled off the bottom and "pocket ported" with a 3 angle.
It made a lot of power twenty years ago FOR WHAT IT WAS (and how much I actually had in it.) Running the stock L69 intake and 1-5 8 headers with 2.25 pipes and? Dynomax super turbos, 3.73s and a 28 inch tire with 2200 HOLESHOT convertor. Q-jet , they used to make an oil pump blocker that kept oil off the back of the crank, kinda like a scraper but it wasn't? I ran one for a long time...
Dude. I didn't even have chrome valve covers...
I tried to buy another one to toss in the K5!
Does your have "601" heads on it? What year is the block? Casting number pliz!
The 2030 is a freaking fantastic 305 cam, IMO.
