MIne was a 84 Honda Prelude wrecked and needed engine rebuilt. Mom and dad got me a new set of Craftsman tools and dad got the parts and said fix it and that when i started learning about how to fix cars at the age of 14. No i have ny 86 K20 our Yukon and we still have her dads 92 S-10 Extracab 2.8 5 spd.

yeah, the 2.8 has a hard time getting out of it's own way but I do have to say the one I had was extremely reliable!! Never a problem with it and being 16-20 when I owned I was NOT easy on that thing and it never let me down. Just don't go up any long hills without plenty of momentum behind ya :lol:

I think of the 2.8/3.1 as a housefly banging against a window pane. It keeps going non-stop or what seems like forever with very little power.

I don't hate the 2.8. It's just not good for getting places quickly :)

Well mines got an MSD Streetfire box, Accel coil 8.8 Accel wires Ac Delco Rapid Fire plugs Aftermarket aircleaner with K&N and open exhaust with a cherrybomb

I love the 2.8, but in MPFI form (used in fwd). I think an '87-'89 multi port 2.8 would be very fun in an S10, too bad GM never did it.

I always wanted to do a 3.1 MPFI Blazer using a Camaro/Firebird engine.

'85-'86 FWD multiport was basically just like the F-body setup. The '87 and later FWD's had better flowing aluminum heads and a different intake. They are zippy, reliable, efficient, and the exhaust produces a mean and nasty growl with no cat and a turbo muffler.

it has gone threw many changes in the 20 some years i have owned it
many motors many transmissions three different frames

4x4 frame swap was the last

its a tore up pile of parts now but i can not get myself to let it go someday i will get around to rebuilding it

Worked all summer tearing down an old 3 story mansion for My Dad,in payment He bought Me a 1957 Harley 125cc model B Hummer,that was My first set of wheels,My second set of wheels,that I traded the Harley for was a 1955 Oldsmobile 88 and I sue would like to have that car back now.well it is`nt impossible because I did get the Harley back,fourty years later.

Aw man...Going to my bank yesterday and sitting in an old garage that I had never seen open was a barn fresh 1955 Olds...I wanted it bad but no one was around to ask about it and the garage was closed today.
