Wow! That would be cool to buy a truck that old from the original owner.

I recently got my '74 from the OG Owners Son. He was 60. "Grampa" had just passed, and he put a for sale sign on it parked by the road. He told me a few funny storied about his Dad, and the truck, but it would've been cool to buy it from Grampa and have a chat with him. Turns out my little Brother was in Scouts with the Grandson...small world. I just wanted a rust free project square, and found it, but it's so original I find myself in a quandary not wanting to 'bastardize' Grampas truck.

I've always wanted one of those. Very nice monte, but he kinda ruined that one with the drag racing junk, IMHO.

True. I guess I've never seen one used for that around here. But then again, I don't really follow the dirt track racing scene.

If the rust isn't bad, that's not a bad truck for a 75 4x4 and 72,000 miles. The interior looks great down to the door panels. The motor looks original and unmolested like the underhood isn't a clusterphuk butcher job.

Sadly, hundreds of thousands of G-body's have suffered this fate. Plentiful, full-frame, coil springs all around. I've seen several areas run a class mandating this chassis, along with a ZZ3/Crate motor.

Yup, G Bodys are the only bodys ran in the hobbystock class here. It used to be Chevelles :'(. There was actually a guy runninging a 72 chevelle this last summer in the hobbystock class.

Then in the modified class, We lost lots of chevelle and impala frames for the loved front stubs.

Now we have Trailor races every year at the county fair and atleast 75% of the competents are running squarebodys.
