If you just grind the heads off you can get the running boards out of the way and then punch the rest of the screw out the other side.

If there is one thing I hate, its having to grind off bolts, screws or rivets. Best of Luck with that. Have fun !!! :grd:

...and make sure you wear eye protection. Those sparks can HURT!! More than once I've even gotten them hot buggers in my friggin ear(s) and those things hurt sometimes

Also, when I've been grinding for a while, when I'm done I'll get big ol' nasty black boogers in my nose.

I chose to learn that the hard way. I was grinding at home about 10 years ago and I got wacked in the eye by metal shards. When I opened and closed my eye lid you could feel it dragging on the metal in my eyeball, and not too much later you saw brown rust around the pieces. Creepiest part was when the eye doctor had to pull those things out with tweezers, I could feel him yanking and my eyeball flexing, phuked up ****. Could have been worse though... :baby:

This is gonna suck because there is limited room between the rocker panel and the board and you got to lay half on the ground and ****. :flame:

Ok, I dropped 113 bucks on the card (shipped) and ordered 3 repair panels for the right rear from LMC. I was going to order a door striker and they had minum requirement of having to order three of them. At 5 bucks a pop I did not order them. I will weld up the old one or get it from a local scrap yard, phukit. I'll see how this repair goes before buying the panels for the other side. My plan this weekend is to get those damn runing boards off and start knocking off loose rust, start spraying some rust converter, and try and get to some patching work on the inside of the truck and inner wheel wells. I'l be grabbing some of that spray foam and spraying it here and there too. Between some sheet metal I have laying around and some tiger hair I think I will have to rely on that to repair the inner fenders.

Pretty sure you can thank GM for that. Those are the original DeeZee rails that came with your rig from the factory. I have the same ones, mounted the same way.

No ****? I'll have to see if they are worth selling on CL. I know my youngest daughter will be pissed at me when they disappear....

Thats it! You can get it at Wal-Mart and Loewes if you don't want to pay shipping. It works really well for broad coverage stuff. In my case I basically hosed the entire underside of the cab and then covered that with 3M undercoat (three coats actually). I haven't seen any sign of rust since then. Which means I'll hit a big bump next spring and the entire cab will come loose from the frame LOL
