I remember being at a local show when I was a kid, all the cars on the grounds were of varying build quality, but had shiny paint. Like normal. Then the sound of rowdy exhaust pulled into the show, in the form of a '66 Chevelle with fenderwell headers, side pipes, a lift off hood and a bunch of primer. I asked dad why it was in the show if it had so much wrong with it. Dad told me "Because that doesn't matter to a lot of people. A car show is for anyone with an older car that they are proud of. Some people care more about going fast than having shiny paint."
