I like this better was looking at this a while back for one of my projects
I'm sorry I should have been more clear. This is a regular Chevrolet bellhousing, using a Novak AX15 adapter to bolt a AR5 on it. It wasn't a straight bolt up but wasn't complicated.

Another 90 miles today. Man, this 3 on the tree has to GO. GREAT for tooling around the farm or old town square, horrible for trying to not get run over by modern cars. This thing is going on the chopping block next summer
Unfortunately it's not so much the three-on-the-tree, it's the manual transmission. Yes, topping out at slower speeds, basically anything under 85-90 in Texas, you're getting run over. About 99.9999999999% have automatics in their vehicles nowadays, and when you take off, then let off to upshift and the vehicle slows down, then speeds up, then slows down again on the next upshift, they seem to take it as a personal attack on them and develop road rage. Happens to me every time I drive a manual transmission vehicle and it doesn't matter which city or state I drive in, people are just impatient like that now. If you're just wanting to go really fast, yes, you need overdrive or better rear gears to allow faster highway speeds. I wouldn't recommend going faster until you install a front sway bar. I know you want to lower the truck, but that won't make it handle better without minimizing body roll.

Lowering doesn't necessarily make a vehicle handle better anyway, yes it lowers center of gravity but also changes the vehicle roll center, and instant center. There's interested reading on it out there.

The AX15 swap is what I was originally researching and was considering the Novak adapter. But then the AR5 was brought to my attention and it seems like a way better candidate.

So the AR5 can be used with that AX15 adapter?

Yeah manual transmission is what I meant, not necessarily the means of shifting. The manual is the problem

Ive consulted the online plug color guides, thought Id see what yall thought. Lot of timing/octane changes with these on. 5 and 7 stand out the most

The problem is impatient people. Having another gear or lower rpms for highway cruising is a plus as long you still have the torque to push the taller gears.

Yeah by tjhe time I'm pressing the clutch in to shift to second, the minivan next to me has already pulled away, and shes driving normally. Its an antiquated system, and it'll be more fun to drive when I dont have to shift

Tired of the vent window not staying open cause it’s still 89 degrees here so first I drilled the rivet out and put a nut and bolt there hoping it would have more tension but that didn’t work and now I got a huge ****** bolt there. Maybe I’ll put a rivet back.

Bent a big ass nail and painted it black, the wind holds it tight lol

Also got the headlight adjusters replaced, the GM ones on the rack at O’Reillys were too big so I found these what I think are license plate holders in my wife’s late grandfather’s toolbox. Eddie comes through again. Going to aim the headlights tonight on the garage door.

By the way, never did lose rear tail lights again, not sure what it was, but under dash fuse block and harness is definitely on the list

There's a spring under the assembly inside the door that provides tension. Snug up the nut and the spring will apply more pressure inside the door. I think the nut is 7/16 or 1/2. Unscrew the door panel to access it. Remove the handles first, of course...lol...

That's what I found on another forumn, those are his pics ar5 67 nova bellhousing. He had some problems with input shaft length but I think he cured that with a special pilot bushing. I'll see If I can find the info again. I was going to do this but don't think the ar5 is tough enough.
