I finally had to replace the battery for the first time owning this truck. It was slow to ignite when driving to work one day, before coming home, and the next day did not turn over. I also finally decided to replace the drivers high beam light and lense. it has been the only light that had moisture in the housing and a dim back internal housing. I always thought of it as black eye on the four eyes, if that makes sense. I just let it be because the light still worked and it didn't bother me that much but, it really started bugging me recently. If you check out some of my previous pics you can see it.

So when I got home yesterday, the headlight was here from LMC, and I had about 25 minutes before my son was home from school. Battery and new headlight install at the same time.

Also worked on the drivers door waiting for a new paint can so I can match the seat belt covers. The door panel is not the same color even though its supposed to be "saddle".
Any way did a modification on the arm rest attachment so they can't be pulled off which usually happens over time.

Took a fall drive to enjoy the fall colors. Obviously we were also collecting many of these leaves! :D

At least in VA this time of year the Asian Lady Bug things are looking for a winter home. Must be a thousand of the things in the shop! Really no way to keep them out so after a good frost I’ll sweep and blow to get them out.

Got the dash in still need to finagle it more to install the hardware that makes it stay. All the clips are in their slots, but the screws aren't installed. A/c hoses connected except the one on the instrument bezel.

Made this little patch panel to fix some rust. Pretty happy with it to be honest.

I wonder if I really effed the pooch or just let it go. Re: fuel system.

I ran that steel OE fuel line up the frame thinking I had a stick of 3/8 & a stick of 5/16. Well, turns out it's 3/8 & 1/4. Only really noticed it when I went to connect the hardline rubber jumpers to the tank selector valve. That's how I discovered that if you use all the choice cuss words, you can make a piece of quarter fit a 5/16 barb after all. With a little help from some spray slippery.

I had none of that when I was putting the fuel pump on, and it wasn't like a hotdog down a hallway putting the rubber jumper on there. I am wondering if there really is enough return from a carburated setup to warrant ripping that back out in favor of 5/16 tubing? It's big block and I don't know how much volumetric efficiency I will need in that circuit. Do it once, do it twice, hope it's not <<<>>> thrice is no way to live your life, son. Dean Wormer will tell you. On edit -
