Might have to do that. What I vaguely read online most recommend 6"+. Kinda stopped researching at that point. I'm guessing the fella that built this didn't go that thick. Haven't bored a hole to confirm yet. It was his retirement project in the early 80s. Did majority of the work himself, with help from sons and neighbors. Other than the membrane roof.Most of the guys who put them in around here have to have footings poured for the posts regardless of the slab thickness. They seem pretty affordable, maybe talk to a supplier and see what they're offering.
I came from working out in the driveway or dirt like many, laying on the ground. That was just a few years ago. Fortunate enough to have this space now. Young enough still that it's not a huge burden. But a lift would be a God send.
