Not cheap but keep in mind that was for everything needed including all the way down to the shift boot. That also included freight.
I did this a couple of years ago but my truck is not close enough to purchase yet.

Looking forward to this. I'm tired of my NV4500. Last time I checked I couldn't find the special fluid anywhere and the Mobil or Redline fluid ruins the shift quality....3rd synchro is out and it's almost time for a clutch. It'd be nice to just swap one of these in instead.
Same. I don't have an nv4500, but want to see this play out

I actually made a mistake when I ordered my T56. I ordered the close ratio one, thinking it would be beneficial over the wide ratio for my particular setup and it's not, 1st gear is way too tall. So I'm actually going deeper on the rear gears (3.90 to either 4.30 or 4.56) and gonna change 6th to the taller one (.50 vs .67) since I have to replace my input shaft anyway
4.30 would be the sweet spot

But another website seems it still needs the adapter.

Well that's a bummer. I know these things will probably be fairly low sellers anyway but you're losing another bit of the market not catering to 2wd guys as well. Not like it's hard or even all that expensive (relatively) to come up with 1 more 1st gearset
I'm sure they are importing factory assembled,O.E. replacement boxes not custom building anything. These transmissions were factory installed in Chevrolet,Ford and Dodges . Just not in the U.S.

If the adapter is not included, or if you are having trouble getting the right input shaft, I did more looking and you should be able to find a Dodge passenger drop T case from anything up through the 80's with the 23 spline behind mainly the gas engines (and maybe automatic Cummins?), remove the adapter that makes it look like a GM Figure 8 case, and I believe Robert would be your mother's brother...

FWIW my truck has 4.10 gears and 33" tires so we'll see how it performs with this combo.
You're likely going to make me want to go to a 4.10 but my truck was 4.56 factory gears.

According to the gear calculators I've been using 4.10 should be perfect for my setup.

I can't imagine 4.56 would be all that bad.

That's not the case with the TKX or the T56 Magnum, they're different than the OE versions. Idk about this trans tho

Advanced adapters makes a 32 spline input with the big bearing for the 205, which will adapt it to th400, 4l80e, which will go behind my 489BB. The adapter bolts to the back of the 4l80e from the t- case. However the early case,(which I have) needs to have the input side of the case bored out to fit the bigger input bearing. I see no down side, 32 spline big bearing.
