Gas Filler Relocation

Hey all, im looking to you guys that have relocated your gas tank or have done body/frame swaps on your trucks. I have a chassis swapped c10 and my gas tank is now along the driver's side frame rail, and the factory tahoe rubber neck points it towards the wheel well or rear bed side area.

Im just seeking ideas and inspiration... I dont see much online aside from 600$ tail light gas door relocation kits, and some cheesy 30$ sheet metal box

Can you locate it in the top of the well in the bed. Using and old style filler. That just used a round hole a protruding fuel filler with a cap. I'll try to find a pic if the filler I'm talking about. Top of the wheel well cap facing up in the top of the fender well I doubt I find a pic.

So are you thinking maybe you can turn the bed over and use the factory passenger side filler door?

I looked at it and just dont really see how unless I run like, 4 feet of rubber hose lol which I guess I could do perhaps. I thought about cutting the gas door out and relocating it but its kinda made into the fender well and all. That'd be a bit more than I care to get into

But I do also like the idea of using an older style gas cap/filler and putting it on the top of the wheel well inside the bed.

I misunderstood stood I thought the filler was coming out in the back of the wheel well. Early K5 style would be dirt simple

The k5's have the filler door between the wheel well and the rear bumper but I'm not sure how well the filler will fit there on a truck bed. If you look on the inside of the truck beds there is a relief bump in the bed floor and bedside for the factory filler tube to pass through without being pinched.

Also... A lot of work to patch the existing hole from the filler door and weld a new one in the rear.

If I were to rate the available options I'd put them in the following order, however I am biased towards factory style appearance even on modified vehicles.

1) If possible flip the Tahoe tank so the filler neck is at the front and use factory filler door.
2) If possible route a filler tube from factory location to Tahoe tank
3) Shave factory filler door and relocate behind tail light
4) Shave factory filler door and relocate to wheel well or bed floor
5) Relocate the filler door to the rear of the fender, shave the original.

I can't take credit for it, the swap was done by the previous owner who is a member here too. But essentially, it's a factory filler door and flange relocated to where you see in the picture. There's a factory filler neck in there, kind of cocked sideways a little bit. There's a relief cut on the inside bed wall for clearance, along with a simple steel housing to protect it. It works really well, but due to slightly different vent hose angles, today's finicky filler nozzles like to click off. I normally just hold the nozzle at about the 2 o'clock position and it fills the tank fine.
